Then you'll love this.
Oliver Stone's latest and greatest.
World Trade Center (http://movies.aol.com/movie/world-trade-center/25376/main)

It looks like a good movie and I didn't think United 93 was too early. A lot needed to be reminded of what happened. As the saying goes, lest we forget...
ack-ack

I happen to agree. I just hope we dont see a flood now that the door has been opened, and get everyone numbed by overimmersion.

I went to the movies Friday to see X3 and saw a sign posted outside one of the theaders. It said there was going to be a preview of World Trade Center and may be graphic and upsetting to patrons. My first thought was why the warning but then I looked at my kids and thought again. When 911 happened I personally thought "here we go, war on our soil". I went to my kids school, pulled them all out, got my wife at work, and after we got home laid a plan out in case of war breaking out in the area. I know you all think this guy is nuts. Truthfully I thought I was going nuts. I was part of Desert Shield, went to Somalia and supported Yugoslavia from Turkey, So when this happened I was making damn sure my family was with me.

not nuts Alan, natural instinct to protect our loved ones.

Nicolas Cage...
That right there means it's gonna suck.
Oliver Stone lost his directing chops ages ago.
-
he was never that good.
platoon was a knockoff of Cross of Iron & i think Salavador was just lucky.
tremendous cinematographer, though.
The Doors is actually enjoyable if you watch it with the sound off.
i liked Wall Street, but look at his batting average, musta been lucky also

Platoon = Cross of Iron!?!
Have you even seen Cross of Iron???

AMEN! I have never like Cage in any movie Ive seen him in.
Heres the movie. A littles bit inside the planes, a little bit the people in the buildings, the hijack, the impact, the suffering and fear, the lucky ones and the inevitable collapse. Roll credits. Oh..and poor acting throughout.

I'll wait to see what kind of reviews it gets...
But if this turns out to be some kind of conspiracy flick where he plays loose with historical facts(like JFK) I won't be paying any money to go see it..

I heard it will not have a typical hollyweird political agenda subliminally implied into the storyline.

The trailor for United 93 choked me up.
The trailor for WTC didn't even give me goosebumps.

Heh, yes he was perfect for that movie.
I also hear he is going to be in the movie adaptation of Ghost Rider due out next year.

Is that it?
You won't show me where the strong opinions about a movie grow?
Take Platoon, subtract Charlie Sheen, combine Barnes & Elias into one character & move it to the ostfront. What do you get?

Some people don't need to be reminded, the memory is still fresh in our brains.
But I do see your point, I know theres people out there who either don't remember or don't care.

What sick and twisted spin is stone going to impart on reality this time?

Bin Laden was on the grassy knoll?

so obviously you haven't seen it then...What, because Barnes and Elias are sargeants that equals a single corporal/sargeant Steiner?? What about Stranszky or Lts Meyer and Triebig?? Who combines to equal their characters?? You could move it to the pacific and call it Sands of Iwo Jima - I think John Wayne was sargeant there...

Yeah, pretty much.
Everywhere else in the world it's May 30, 2006. In Hollywood and Washington DC it's September 12, 2001.
