Howdy all!
Another day at the auctions!… As many know I tend to spend my day off hitting the local auctions. Some of the treasures (or junk) that I bring home ends up in my house or garage, some has been donated to museums… and some find its way to ebay… Today was an ebay day.
This is the sight that greeted my wife when I got home. (Proof, that there is just a touch of hillbilly in me.)

She was not impressed until I showed her what these things tend to go for online…

Also in the truck are five boxes of lenses for these things. They will be a little ebay fodder for the lean winter months.
All this for less than I have spent on beer in one evening!
Wish me luck!

If that doesn't qualify for a "Caption this..." I don't know what would.
Oh yeah, good luck!

What was that , a city surplus auction?
-
Yes it was a city surplus auction. I resisted the urge to bring home lots more out of date equipment…. By “resisted the urge” I mean, there was no more room in the truck.

Theres a college surplus auction coming up here withn a few weeks that I go to every year. Last year me and the missus took both the car and the truck there. Both was filled up with servers, routers, complete computer systems, 2 way portable radios, and a few lazer printers for $33.
I have a complete pallet of working computer towers in the shed, the total for that was only around $15

about 8 ?? Holy crapola thats $4000 worth at that rate :O WTG !!!!
Psssst - want some investment capital ???

After combining the best parts together, I should only come up with 3 or 4 good lights… I may offer them all at once as a “pick-up” only item. I may not get as many bids, but it moves them faster, and I don’t have to try to pack them. Did you see the shipping cost for that light? 80 bucks!

When I first saw the picture, I had to laugh. But seeing the ebay auction page, it makes more sense. My first thought though was a bag lady hording weird crap in a shopping cart.
It could be a lot of fun to put one in the middle of your street with remote control to turn the light red when anyone approaches. Then see how long they will sit there waiting.

Cant do it unless its a hot woman in a car, then turn the light red.
Put up a sign that says "please wait to be serviced" :D
