Post by: Bravo80 on June 04, 2006, 11:17:56 AM
No problems with mapping Force Feedback Pro joystick with 2.7 version.  Downloaded new 2.8 version, joystick no longer functions, multiple mapping attempts, calibration attempts negative, any suggestions ?  thanks

Title: Email from tech support

I received an email from Aces High Tech Support yestarday regarding my problem with the new version.  They said they have been having problems with Sidewinder Pro sticks.  I don't understand that.  My stick was working fine with the older version.  I tried the free two week trial, absolultely no issues.  Joined/paid on Saturday, June 3, now have all these issues.  My stick will not center either, the planes' jump all over the place with even the slightest of stick movements, and no views available with the center button on the stick.  I hope they are working on it or I'll have to cancel membership.  Really, I guess I should get a refund if they don't fix it.  I'll give them some time though to be fair.  I'm old enough to get worried when something is working fine, and I'm forced to use the "new and improved" version.

I am using a MSFFpro 2 USB.  I have no issues with it.  Works same as older versions.

MSFF2 usb here also.............

When in the tower, hangar, there is no return to center tension at all.  When in flight or driving, it centers just fine, all tension is there.  Kind of hard to calibrate if ya don't know where the center is. :(

As of the last patch, when I first log in, only the side to side tension is present, not front to back until I take flight, then all axis' are are FF.

We're gettin there...........;)

I have never calibrated this joystick in the game.  There is no need as the window drivers for the joystick have autocalibration.  I always have had full range of motion on all axis's.  I actually lied, I did calibrate 1 time in the game longtime ago, but it really made things bad.  Deleted the calibration in the game and all was well.

I'm using a Sidewinder Pro usb and lost the force feedback with new version. All I had to was re-enable it in the game and it's back to self centering per normal. Seems I had to recalibrate in-game a few times but not as much lately.

Something weird is definitely going on. Now I have unequal centering forces... it is heavier forwards-backwards and lighter sideways. An that is ALSO at desktop when AH is not running.

There are no such settings hor Sidewinder2 FFB in the game controller software. Is the stick breaking or what could this be?

My MS FFB2 Pro was working fine in AH this am.  Now with patch 2 I'm
getting the same trouble as the guys with no centering force or forcefeed
back.  This is a USB version btw.

Everthing seemed to transfer fine. The JS does not center OTR or have any forces including the gun feedback. I'm using Mode 1 and 2 to change views.

Update- NoFF at all even after Takeoff.
