Title: Problems with Saitek X-52
Post by: Rookie on June 04, 2006, 06:07:27 PM
since the Update i´ve got heavy Problems with the Mapping, most of them can be fixed by a new mapping, but i still have one Problem left, that one would cause, that i ´m going to cancel my Account:

After the Update my views didnt work, I mapped my Joystick over the Software form Saitek with the Keys from Numlock, but this only works in Tower, not on the Runway... (same Problems with the Keyboard)

After that i mapped the views over the AH Joy Mapping ==> same Problem.

I Think i´will give u four week till i cancel my Account...Thats not funny to fly with only front view...

P.S.:

Another Member in my Squad has Probs, too, that he cant fix alone...he will also cancel his account in Four weeks, when the Problems still there, Sorry!

This yet another incarnation of the problems. I posted a fix, but it went down the line quickly.

Do this; Click the default map button in the control map box & then double check all the keyboard map positions again & remap them as necessary. If this doesn't fix the problem, save a copy of your current settings file & delete the HTC folder.

Re-download a fresh copy off of the AHII homepage & DO NOT imort settings. Remap all your settings - keyboard & controller fresh. Then you can go in & copy the parts of your old settings file you want to transfer to the new version manually.

If you need more help just give a yell.

in your options....make sure that you have "start in mouse view" un-checked.

that conflicts with the hat view on the runway...

also, shift-M (mouse panning) option will cause the same conflict.

you'll have to hold down the left mouse button for mouse panning to work...

I understand that the next patch will adress these issues.

The big problem in the controllers is the change in user interface....it actually works pretty well....it's just having to get used to new system.

If you use the SST software, and have all your buttons profiled to keybord buttons...you can get the entire thing to work
Title: X-45
Post by: Lemoo on June 06, 2006, 12:57:15 AM
My Saitek X-45 just broke after two years of hard service. It was as good a stick as my CH Fighterstick imho.

So, I went out and got the X-52. Yes it has a learning curve, it took me about an hour to figure it out, but it was well worth it. Still have my CH pro pedals hooked up, it works well.

Now if I can solve that blasted 10 minutes and I'm booted prob :)

Opinions will invariably vary, but for the bucks an X-52 kicks it. Paid 103.00 at Circuit C__y

I got a X45. Spent 15 minutes remapping my buttons - all is well.

The only thing you have to ignore is, that the buttons are named wrong in the list (ie Pinkie is Fire D etc), but they are all there. Simply press the button on stick to map it, and its no thing. Skuzzy said its a problem with the internal stick naming of the buttons, he cant change it.

Lemoo,  if youre getting booted after 10 mins regularly, check temperatures of your Vid card and CPU! Sounds like a heat problem.

I took Skuzzys advice and rebooted my router, all is well now. I am Oc'd a little but she's not too hot. I'll wait till I get a new machine and push her till she smokes. :D

If the CPU was heating up the machine itself would likley reboot or shut down.

Over the time i was frying my old vid card to a slow, painful death, it would just dump me to desktop pretty regularly :).

But PCs are always unpredictable ;). Glad you fixed your issues.
