Hey LePaul, let me know when you plan to take that BD-5 up for its maiden flight... I'd drive up to watch (only 4 hours away or so).
How's it coming btw?

To be honest, the BD-5 is in limbo. Im not sure if I want to sell it off or roll it into a corner of the hangar and resume work on it some other day.
Im looking into the RV aircraft (www.vansaircraft.com), namely the RV-8A. Why? Safer, less build time, easier to insure, carries 2 people (vs 1 in the BD5) and the list goes on. I read of a BD-5 accident recently where the pilot was killed, namely because there is no margin for error on a hard landing in the BD-5. He had an engine failure and managed to get it down, but came in a wee too hard, crunching the nose and in so, killing him (ala shoving knees thru chest, i heard).
Its a gorgeous little bird, but for what I want at this moment in time is something easy to insure, aerobatic, fun, able to tote 2 and able to land/takeoff from grass strip (such as Brewer is).

BD-5 "T" (TurboProp) 90% complete, first flight in 2001 (We hope!)

Sorry to hear that... the BD-5 would have been a rush and a half. The new project looks sweet tho... are you building the tri-gear or the dragger? Dragger looks cooler IMO (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
