You know the situation: there's a lone con circling your field... you're in the tower, you've upped a GV, or you're rolling an interceptor. Yet the field is silent, even though there are 10 37mm ack guns pounding away at the circling enemy. I think it'd would add a lot to the atmosphere of the game if those guns were going "bang bang bang."
When my base is under attack, I want it to sound like an air raid... sirens blaring, guns banging away, etc. On a CV, you've got way more guns in close proximity too... that should be even more noise. :)

with sound pack ack guns are still silent:huh
I will vote yes on this idea, it would be nice to have some "AA gun" sounds for the auto ack.

Agreed. Must be some awesome silencers on those things.

100% agree. perhaps HT could just quickly add another sounfile and map it to the autoack. would be really nice methinks :D

I thought auto-ack did make noise? Isn't it a chattering-noise type of firing sound? Almost the same sound you hear from an M16?
I think the problem is you can't hear anything with your engine on while flying thousands of feet over the field. Same reason you can't hear an enemy plane's guns until he's really really close -- because there's too much noise drowning him out.
I know that when people man the soft ack guns, they make noise. I've seen it personally. Auto ack, I thought did as well. :huh
-
manned ack makes a noise, auto ack doesn't. Just listen next time you're in the tower of a base under attack, or grab a gv and shut the engine off.
-
:aok almost as good as the adding of another tank.
