Title: maps n rams
Post by: Coronado on June 09, 2006, 08:34:50 PM
how about a map in the hangar and fixing the ram model so if one plane goes down, they both go down?

One time I rammed a C47 on purpose since I was out of ammo.  Quite fairly, I went down and he stayed up.

You would not like what you get then:
Imagine gameplay if intentional ramming would really work... but just search the BBS for discussions about collision model and the reason WHY it works the way it does now. I think HiTech has stated clear enough that it won´t change, and I am glad about it.

Lusche I get intentially rammed many times and I still lose.  Ill pull up to avoid the ram or barrel roll and whether it be a zeke to a la7 to a spit I always die to this and the rammer flies off.  Too many people now follow me as I try to avoid it and I get rammed and die.  Most of the time ill get the "You have collided" message which is obsurd and rarely do I get the message "..... has collided with you."

i dunno how the ram model works........i believe it is that the faster person takes damage, pretty much because if you were trying to ram someone, to succeed youd probably have a more speed.

anyway i still would like to see it that both people took damage from collision.

probably 2 biggest reasons for wanting to change model, scissor maneuver and headons. (when both people are involved no one should be excluded)
..........for that reason an realism

well...in a fair assessment of my personal ram"accidents" in my zeke...i lose 80% of the time.

given the amazing speed a zeke can reach...not sure that theory holds up.

Wow, this guy still doesn't get it.

If your computer see's a ram, then a ram has occured and you get the corrosponding damage.

If your computer doesn't see the ram, then your plane doesn't get any damage from the ram.

If you don't believe me,search the bbs and you will see that this is the truth.  It's been explained a million times!

andddd...this has exactly what to do with me losing 80% of rams in a zeke?

Talon.. how bot we make the C47 exempt?? if they can make a bomber take a specific runway... a shell deflect off a Tiger turret... they can exempt a C47.

Coronado, you talkin to me?

If so, then read my post.
Then realize that 80% means nothing.  It's just another number that can't be believed unless you actually kept accurate data.  And even if it was accurate, it is still just a number.

There are is no bias on wether you fly a zeke or a 262.  If you computer sees the collision, then well, you figure it out.

What happened is the rammer was firing as he hit. You took damage from that. Ht has explained that many times. Also start filming sorties you will see it . Because just like you i didn't believe till i saw the gun fire.

hmmm still thinking of this idea of both planes taking the damage from a Collision... No matter who's front end detects it.. You know what I am actually liking this idea.

Field Capped with Enemies.... We up a bunch of crappy planes and Ram them all.. Now thats a fast was of clearing a Cap. And the only ones who are going to be bothered by this are umm.. Lets see... Oh thats right Everyone....

I dont know.. That Idea just doesnt work with me personally..

And I dont know about everyone else. But being rammed 3 times with a possiblity of surving vs being rammed 3 times and dieing every single time.

Seems that the first option sound better to me...

Also off the top of my mind and I assure you this is not directed at anyone at all.. But are people really complaining that they are getting rammed and not surviving or is it really that whenever they manage to hit someone they are dieing just the same and it just doesnt seem right to them?

here's an idea...let me ram you with a zeke ..no firing...you going faster in , say a p51..lets see who hits the silk.

i can think of only 1 time both planes went down..2 109's ..prolly a combined speed of 750 mph....another time... rammed a guy twice while firing (both sides)  and he finally crashed on the third....model plain sux,, you'll convince me it doesnt when they discover the world really is flat.  :o)

Coronado....

If your computer "sees" your plane hit an nme plane, you get ram damage.

BUT you don't see the same thing the enemy plane sees due to internet lag.

So if you ram someone, and they fly off apparently undamaged, odds are on THEIR computer there wasn't a ram.  They didn't "see" it.

IF you see a collision, you get damage.  But just because YOU saw it, doesn't mean THEY did.

Get a friend or squaddie to film a fight with you in the DA or TA.  You also film it.  Then watch both films.  They will be different, because of the Lag on the internet.  Sometimes if the connection varies alot, they look almost like two different fights.  Both players don't "see" the same thing.

If you are getting alot of rams, quite flying into 'em.
