Ha...well either way, kids look like they are enjoying it.
Mom must be concerned about all the dirt they'll haul into the house?

As Rip knows, woman are quite happy to follow their men around and pick up the mud and debris. It is womans work after all.

I saw a commercial for an above-ground pool. It was 30 seconds long. You know why? Because that's the maximum amount of time you can depict yourself having fun in an above-ground pool. If it was 31 seconds, the actor would say, "What the **** am I supposed to do now? The water's only up to here. What should I do? Throw the ball back to Jimmy? Or put some goggles on and look at his feet? I can't even drown my kneecaps!"

:rofl This ones actually pretty deep, 48"...the kids enjoy it, and its nice to cool off on the hot days for the adults too. It's not fooling my wife though, she's got an inground pool scribbled in the budget for 2007 :( She wants a pool, I want a 27 ft. pocket cabin cruiser.

There is indoor/outdoor carpeting on the other side of that pool going across the gravel (Red arrow), it cleans their feet off pretty good.

That's not my fence by the way...I wanted a "Green Belt" fence, but the people who bought that house originally put up a cedar fence. Part of it has already blown down in a wind storm and rebuilt. Looks like crap. I'm still planning to put up pickle trees down that length to hide the fence.

That is one battle YOU have to win Ripsnort.
When she eventually throws your arse out the door its better to live on that 27 than in a pool ;)
PS.. what kind of boat are you looking for Mr soon-to-be-hobo

I hear ya Nilsen...I've tried many times to show her how ridiculous a pool is in the Pacific Northwest. She says "Pool" I say "Foolish, short season". She says "Pool heater" and I say "Foolish, expensive to heat". She says "No sex" and I say "Okay, when do you want the pool...." :huh
I'm partial to many 27 footers, but these two have my eye as of recent:
Rinker 270: (its actually a 30 footer, but will fit in the garage)

Campion 825:

i will say Rip... you house looks all nice and secluded and on a huge lot from the front...
but duyamn man can you get neighbors any closer in the back? plant soem trees or something, that looks like zero privacy in your back yard.
-
LOL.. "no sex" works everytime :D
I liked the Rinker best. More water capacity and smoother lines. The Campion looks too tall.

Agreed, but I've got a Campion 542 right now, and their fit and finish is some of the best I've seen in a fiberglass boat. Don't matter, still gotta wait...:(

I remember the Seattle Seahawks complaining about a missing piece of their field just about that size???

Those look nice and sleek, Nilsen (under 30 footers that I looked at) I'm looking for more creature comforts rather than a sporty look, though.

LOL....dammit, someone beat me!
I feel your pain on fences and neighbors. The guy that lives behind me is the R in Redneck. I mentioned putting up a fence, maybe splitting the cost and he went on abuot how he can build one easy! (Sure, from a man who cant mow a lawn...)
So at some point I'll just eat the cost and put my own fence up.

might want to plant some decent trees like emerald aborviateas. At least they get better with age.

It has to be a hedge. That area is used for pulling up in the rig with boat, then backing into the garage. Trees would narrow that passage to the point that I couldn't back the boat into the garage.
However...I did recently install a front hitch on the truck, so I could essentially put the boat in with the front of the truck now...hmmmm...

Nice pool?" :huh Its a kids pool dude! :) It is 18 ft in circumference and 48" deep...so that would be typically 8-10 normal people or 2 FDB's.

Yeah, see, its a HEATED pool. :D
The indoor/outdoor green grass astroturf stays out all summer until fall when we take down the pool. We've had these Intex pools for 5 years now, kids love them. Our first was a 15' diameter. This one is 18'. Only $350 or so.

Nice going dad..
Now keep the girls out of the pool..
Mouth to mouth practice is bound to happen...

whats with all the dirt? did you agent orange your border?

Sand around the firepit, gravel drive way is the rest. No dirt (except under 4" of gravel and sand) Woodchips beneath the kids swing. Where that pool sits, an inground pool is going in eventually...thus the lack of work in that part of the yard.
