any idea what the best drivers are for a ati radion pro 9600 256mb graphics card is and where to get them pls
-
Catalyst 4.12 drivers. You can find them at http://www.ati.com
It takes a bit of effort to find them. In the downloads page, expand the left menu listing until you get to the "Previously released drivers" option.
Then on that page, go to the last page and at the bottom of the last page will be a link to drivers released prior to Catalyst 5.x.
-
or use the 4.12 omega drivers ...
-
ALSO THE VERSION CAT 5.3 WORKS JUST AS GOOD AS 4.12....JUST AS STABLE AND SUPPORTS MORE MODERN GAMES LIKE COD2. BEEN USING IT FOR 2 YEARS AND HAVEN'T HAD EVEN 1 DRIVER RELATED CRASH:aok
JUST DON'T TRY ANYTHING THAT CAME AFTER THAT. I'VE TESTED ALL OF THEM AND IF THEY DON'T CRASH, THEY KILL PERFORMANCE (BTW MY CARD IS A SAPPHIRE 9600XT 128M)
-
5.3 has the 'black dot' problem in Aces High II for the 9000 series cards. All the 5.x drivers have this problem in Aces High II.
-
NEVER SEEN IT ON MINE BUT MAYBE SOMETHING IS DIFFERENT ON SAPPHIRE CARDS
-
buzzzzzzz stop shouting ....
btw ive got 3 different 9 series cards .. ive seen drivers that work fine on one card but not another
9550 likes the 4.3's and the 4.12 omega's the 4.7's were black dots/darbars
my 9500pro runs the 4.7's ....4.12's just fine the 4.3's worked then failed during a patch
my 9600pro only likes the 4.12's either cats or omega's it has anomilies with the 4.3's 4.7's 4.10/11's
kinda weird huh .. but each card is a different manufaturer .powercolour,Radeon,Crucial .
thats why we suggest the 4.12's

sorry...caps is my mic key in vent....like i said sapphire cards might be a little different in how they handle drivers...i'm still using 5.3 without issues, but from what i've read it won't work very well on other cards (my buddies 9800 pro is an ATI build and doesn't like it, supposed to be the same chip as mine just uncorked) so it's probably just the different build. ignore what i said, if you have an actual ati card it probably won't work, or work poorly at best
