Ok Super Postalotaroo vent time ......
verizon my phone/dsl carrier had a problem with "there" lines up the street from my house ... they came out and fixed it by switching me to a different line .... well a couple weeks later they .... do a mystery screw up (6-6-6 of course)and cut off my phone/dsl... (bill was paid and current)
so we finally get them to turn it back on .... but guess what its on the "Dead " line ... 10 hrs and many dead phone batterys and 5 days later ... we get a service man out to fix there screw up... finally they get it back on correctly .... now guess what ...
the dsl is hooked up to the dead line ....
another 10 hrs, and more dead battery's .... we cant seam to get it into there heads that our dsl is connected to a dead/wrong line ....
Talk about a bunch of IDIOTS ....
all they need to do is communicate correctly and listen to us .... not tell us our pc isnt hooked up ... or "what os are you using" ect ect .....
well ive given them the ultimatium ... fix it or else ... "well we'll send a service man out" .... (Insert my screaming here ) yea so he can hook up his laptop and find out what ive been telling them is true ....
now the questions are can we sue for breach of service ??? or something like that ?? the lost $$ from no service is getting up there to ... (Mrs Roo has no current income because of this ) :furious
the high price from a cable connect is starting to look good about now .
even though it isnt any faster around here ..
Roo Rant mode off ... back to consoling the voices in my head.

Did they tell you how the weather in India was?
Honestly, I feel your pain. Sometimes you wonder how certain companies stay in business.

Call the customer service department. Keep asking for a supervisor until you get someone to agree that you shouldn't have to pay for unavailable service.

You have verzion? God I'm so sorrry, we have verzion here too, thats why I have cox telephone, all the lines are above ground, on poles, and the big joke in my apt complex, when the power, phone and everything connected to it (except cox cable) goes out is who sneezed. For some reason cox stays running when nothing else does, I asked a tech why once, and all he said was their stuff aint 50 years old.

Verizon actually has the best fiberoptic network out there. Try living with Sprint as your local provider.:furious

switch to cable .. at least they are local amd you can actually see someone face to face if you have to and your compalints, compliments and suggestions stay local & do not fall on deaf ears .. ay least that is the way cable works around here
-
do they have a public service commission in your state? you needn't actually call the PSC you just need to communicate the possibility of you considering to call the PSC. here it works wonders. they actually come out and fix it yesterday. amazing stuff, the power of suggestion.

another day of deaf ears ....

called cable company ... getting set up on fri ... Thats when We get to hit verizon over the head . Whats really sad is they break up good ole Ma Bell for being a monopoly ... then verizon takes over as a replacement monopoly ... (there is no other carrier in my area so its switch over to cable time )
AH anno meetings til then ....
think i need a hug ... or at least a beer with a Big Sammich back .

Who you pay for service is irrellevant if your local wiring was run back when neon was in vogue and all the switches are mechanical.
Been there.
They can advertise their "fiber optic network" all they like, it matters nothing if the fiber optic isnt run to your house. For millions of people that is still the case.

the best days in my recent memories were my daughters wedding and the day i told verizon to get their ****ing wires off my property. "CAN YOU BASTARDS HEAR ME NOW??"
now I'm on optimum cable.. tv, broadband and vonage cable phone. I'm saving about a hundred bucks + a month. and the stuff works... the price is still too high tho.
next great day will be when a satellite company offers broadband internet at a competitive price.. then i can tell Optimum to stuff it. :D
