Title: Recent C-5 crash at Dover: Pilot error
Post by: CMC Airboss on June 14, 2006, 01:05:08 PM
Human error was found to be the cause of the recent C-5 crash.  I would say, more like gross negligence after reading the Air Force report.  The pilots and flight engineer forgot which engine they shut down.

The pilots forgot which engine they shut down, the engineers didn't advise as to the proper flap setting. Makes me wonder how often these guys practiced emergency procedures.

Apparently, the improper use of flaps was going from full flaps to partial flaps on final as the airplane was getting too slow.  The airplane just fell out of the sky at that point.
