Title: asus AV8 Deluxe and SATAII

does anyone know if the asus AV8 will work with a western digital 250mb sata II WD2500KSRTL hard drive? I have sata I drives in it now but was wondering if this board can handle the faster SATA II drives? If not, can the sata mode be set to I instead of II and have it work?

SATA II is supposed to be backwards compatible with SATA I.

So they should work but at SATA I speeds only.

It should also be possible to lock the drive to SATA I speeds using the following document form Western digital, just a matter of setting a jumper.
