This is my second shot on the first hole. Not a great picture...a bit blurry. One thing you will notice about this golf course, though....there tends to be alot of water involved:

The green at the third hole:

View looking back towards the third hole from the fourth tee:

Very nice course-side house. Check out the small little chimney on the right side:

Nice little BBQ action ;) but I'm surprised it isn't set up to be a smoke house. I want to do that at some point..and have it look much like this:

This picture is the taken from the fifth tee and you can see the green on the left side. On this hole Babe Ruth made a wager that he could hit the green from that tee and apparently lost 11 balls in the water trying during an amateur tournament (he came second so they obviously didn't count the strokes):

Here is a dedication to the incident in the club house:

Another shot from 5th tee:

Little par 3:

For those of you who golf: from the white blocks it is almost 200 yards before your ball is "feet dry" on this hole:

Ladies tee. When I play with friends a ball in the water means you did NOT hit past the ladies tee, no matter where the ball enters the water. Generally we play the dick-out rule and so the unfortunate must play from here...with his wang out.

Looking back from where I hit my second. Honestly. ;)

That's it.

-
Wow... that's what green looks like. :aok
-
Very nice indeed!

Very nice golf course and pics, Curval. Not so sure about that dick-out rule though, must be a tropical thing...

We play the same here in Texas.
Oh yeah, I hate you Curval!;) You make my local course look like a landfill.

I should post pics of the Trona golf course down the road. I **** you not, it's in the desert... sand rocks creosote and tumbleweed. The greens are actually grass though.

LOL! It's just one gigantic hazard with greens popping out every once in a while. I bet you've got a mean bunker shot after playing that a few times, though. :D
-
LOL... you googled it. :D
I played on it one time, probably a decade ago. Normally, I'll just play on base. It's pretty much the only golf course in town.
Oh... and that sand isn't the fluffy bunker type stuff. It's packed firm. More like soft concrete. ;)

I shouldn't joke.
Here's golf, Great White North-style:

Why did you post a picture of a drinking fountain in Europe? :huh
-
Im not a golf fan, but that course was beautiful. :)
-
Damn,
I need to move again
-
I think the wang-out rle is universal...
I really hate it when I step on it with golf cleats though.
badum bum.
-
Sounds almost as bad as that time I fell off the ball washer.
-
I have to ask...did you wear the pink shorts? :)
-
Nash, that pic with the Grizzly is great! :D
-
Is Mid Ocean your favorite golf club in Bermuda? Have you tried the government owned ones? Great pictures, makes me envious, thx for sharing.

My thoughts exactly.
Havent seen that much green in one place in more than a decade.
Anyone have any piccies of rain? Cant seem to recall what it looks like either.

Thanks for the comments guys.

"When we come to visit, I'll bring my clubs" Absolutely.
Sandman:
That course (Trona) looks virtually impossible to play on. I assume you need the neon coloured balls so that you can find it....in the fairway?

"I went to the practice range yesterday with a friend (hadn't touched a club since 86)... I can barely move my fingers today. "
Dude...relax your grip. Your not out there to pleasure yourself. ;)
MT:
"I think the wang-out rle is universal..." I was introduced to the rule when I was living in Canada. I think the Canadians just wanted to see my wang.
LePaul: "I have to ask...did you wear the pink shorts?" I was surprised to see this question so far into the thread...I figured it would have been one of the first. But, to answer your question, no...the pink shorts are for work. I don't own any pink golfing attire. Who is the character who was wearing all pink at the US Open...some Irish guy I think? Can't say it looks good at all, and golf is not about whether you win or lose, or how you play the game...it's how you look on the course that is important. ;)
Frenchy: "Is Mid Ocean your favorite golf club in Bermuda? Have you tried the government owned ones?"
Yes, by far. I'm not a member there...yet, but my father and all my partners at work are. I have been offered a membership since they made me a partner, but I haven't played enough recently to justify it, mostly due to a bad back and no time due to small kids. After this round though I may just get my application in.
Port Royal is the best govt course. I've played it in the past but haven't in a number of years. I play Ocean View every once in a while, but not thrilled with it at all. St. Georges Golf Course is a nice course and fortunately I have not been recognised up there after my girlfriend wreaked one of their carts about 12 years ago after driving us off a cliff. NEVER let your girlfriend drive the cart! Just don't do it....EVER! They have erected a fence now where we became airbourne so we possibly saved a life or two since then.
I think I've played every course in Bda actually, except Tucker's Point, the newest one. I played it before they redid it...but not since.

Ahem... I hadn't played for 20 years and my aim was to try & beat my buddy on lengthy shots...I hit'em hard and "not so straight". I succeeded, but now the pain moved up in my shoulders.
Should get better in a few weeks, after all I'm not used to wiggle a stick with both my hands...
