How's it going?
-
I'm doing just swimmingly thank you very much!
Except for the fact that it pisses rain this entire month - every single day - at 6 pm sharp. You can set yer watch to it.
Uhm.... the boss hired his son a coupla months ago, and today I had to tell him that he's so freakin' fired. Talk about akward. :)
This company called MAC Cosmetics moved into the floor above us... and now today there are beautiful babies all over the place.
I'm playing tennis every day during lunch. It makes things seem like highschool... and lunch like P.E. class.
I'm bored of pretty-much everything on T.V. if it's on at 11 pm or prior..... though I still love UFC. I guess the finals are happening this weekend or next. Tonight was a re-run... bah.
Best new music discovery - The Arctic Monkeys. (yes, they're probably old to you guys across the pond. In a word - amazing.
All in all - same 'ol stupid ****.
You?

Well, aside from the fact that I live in Bethesda, MD(by across the pond, I assume you meant GB or mainland Western Europe), I'm doing pretty well.
I like the rain, which is falling right, as I type this, and I'm excited about going to law school in a August.
Other than that, I have a crappy job, and I'm living in a really nice penthouse condo for the very reasonable rate of zero dollars per month.
I've travelled extensively in the last year, which has yielded me little other than a short-lived marriage and a whirlwind divorce. I still love her, but, as it turns out, I also love Russian Vodka and American cartoons.
-
Yeah. :) By "you guys" I meant the Brits.
Don't sweat the marriage too much. It's a drag, but bigger and better things await - I guaruntee you. Sounds trite.... but so does everything.
You've lived in that condo for a coupla years now, right?
Great to hear about law school! Which one? You got yer BA in English, if memory serves. And it should serve you well.
-
Yeah, BA in english. Penn State Law is now my home (Dickinson). Could have probably done better, but my college career was pretty spotty, to say the least. LSATs saved me. Moving to Carlisle Penn. in a month. $650 per month for a place that would have cost me $3000 here in Bethesda... No crime, no nothing! What a craphole! I love it!
The Condo is history. Lots of nasty ghosts here. Lots of walls dented by high-velocity wine bottles and ash trays.
Marriage--what can I say?? Married for all the wrong reasons. She took the Chihauhau and left the country.
Pissed as all hell, but always looking for a laugh. Sometimes recall those days when I made people smile with my easy-going sense of humor. Liver's paying the price big time, but, hey, I'm still sort of young.
Wouldn't know the first thing about firing the son of the boss. It was odd enough being the son of the boss without having the whole 'employment' aspect hanging over my head, or, for that matter, the heads of my co-workers. Hated every second of it. Never worked for the old man, never will.
Tell me about the babies (I'm assuming they're not the diaper-filling variety)??
Tennis for lunch? what gives?? all I get for lunch is more work!
UFC is pretty cool. haven't seen much of it besides one fight (I believe it was UFC), where some 200 lb pipsqueak took out a 600 lb monster--broke his hand in the process. Intense engagement, and, oddly reminscent of my New Year's evening, when I punched a wall.

Nash is Nash, and I appreciate him for it... I may even love him for it, but that would sound way too left-wing for my taste.
Regardless, our views on the world couldn't differ more. Nevertheless, I value the guy's intelligence and his sense of humor. Agreement is not a pre-requisite for respect.
Be friends, fellas.... Life's short.

"This company called MAC Cosmetics moved into the floor above us... and now today there are beautiful babies all over the place."
When I was in Toronto a few weeks ago they had a MAC Cosmetics sales rep convention down at the Park Hyatt. Babes everywhere...so I can verify what Nash is saying.
Incidentally, I was told that MCA Cosmetics was originally a line of makeup specifically marketed to the lesbian community but ended up going main-stream and grew into a huge company. Nash, this is an interesting way to get a conversation going with a few of the hotties. I'm interested to know if what I heard was true.
