Title: Best Way to Get Started With Skins

Don't have any computer graphics experience, but I think I'm getting really interested in doing skins.  What's the best way to get started?  I know you guys use photoshop for creating the skins, but it costs some serious $$$.  I was hoping there might be something less expensive (which would obviously be less capable) just in case I lost interest after I started...

ok  i guess  from  your question you already know how to find  the skins  and get them so u can use some thing like photoshop.
if not go to the AH skin site  and that  gives  detailed instructons.

there is  a program called gimp  that some guys use  i believe this is free also  jasac  do paint shop pro  which comes i think with  a 2 or 3 month free trial or if you were  a really bad  boy i guess if you had some sort of file shareing program  u could search on there and find something

I use psp8  but  you can use any program that uses layers that way u can add  layers  and  make easy adjustments
