Title: My Custom Short Scale Bass is born this day

I went and did it.  Been looking at this company for several months and have checked out the reviews and done all my homework.

I have ordered a Cortobass Standard using Maple for the body (with some flame and some birds eye) with a center stringer of Rosewood.  The nut will be made from maple, the pickguard made of walnut and the control knobs and truss rod cover will be fashioned from rosewood.  All harware will be chrome, and I am having a plaque installed that will honor my late father, who introduced me to the love of music.

Will take about 120 days for the order to be filled and shipped.

Will post photos when the babe arrives :D

Nice!  What pickups did you choose? because if its all maple with just the little bit of rosewood, its going to be quite bright sounding.

No change to the pickups.  Lace at the neck and EMG at the bridge, both passive.  I used to own a old beatup Rickenbacker with natural maple body and loved the mid and upper tones....I did ask about the possibility that maple might be too thin sounding and they were confident the mids and bottom would remain solid just that the upper end would be capable of longer bright sustain.  Which is good when competing with loud guitars and crash cymbals.
