How do I edit the programs that open when I start up XP?
-
Start, run,
type: msconfig
enter
-
If you're talking applications, click the "Start" button, then select "All programs". Find the "Startup" folder and modify as you see fit.
If you're talking all that other stuff that loads at startup, do the following.
Click the "Start" button. You should see the "Run..." button on the bottom right of the pane.
Type "MSCONFIG" into that box and hit return.
Another box will open and you'll see the "Startup" tab on the right.
-
Or you can click start/ programs/startup, and delete the ones that are starting with windows that are in the start folder.

It is Start > Run. Type "CMD" then type "FORMAT C: \Y"
It will fix everything :aok

Cav -have a look here. All the info you'll need is here, including what each of the windows process does.

I recommend using EasyCleaner too; it has a registry cleaner and allows you to delete programs that are starting up with Windows from the registry level.
