Title: The search for a second interview
Post by: FiLtH on June 26, 2006, 08:55:31 AM
Im now looking for another player to interview. The first interview was a fighter pilot. For July's newsletter I'd like to find someone who may be a dedicated bomber pilot, someone who is heavy in events, or who tries to capture bases on the map. Please nominate people here, or yourself if you feel you fit the bill. I think it will be interesting to get an interview such as this to get their take on the game they play.

Filth,

Try Flossy.  She's been bombing for Years now, pretty much all she rides in events.

He actually uses bombers to bomb?

I thought he just upped bombers to kill everyone within 6k of him.

I'm pretty sure he's on his way to bomb something, and that the mass genocide is just coincidental to his bombing passion.....

Ya Flossy is one Id like to do. But I havent seen her in ages. As far as a "dedicated" bomber...it doesnt have to be someone who only bombs..merely someone who will from time to time. I will be submitting a bomber tips page in the newsletter this month, and I think it would be nice to have an interview along those lines.

Some LCA guys would be good too, and get some insight on how they function. Event types...I will be doing a well known fighter pilot for August, but July's will be a different breed of cat.

How about Corky, or someone like that? I can understand why you wouldn't want to interview us, but choosing someone from the LCA, or any group who only speaks when trying to piss people off wouldn't do anything but encourage more of that type of behavior.

I may be in the minority here, but I'm more interested in the guys who offer more to the community than just aggrevation and a target. Guys like Corky, Widewing, etc, who have a wealth of experience and general knowledge of this type of game, the planes, etc make the bbs and the game a lot more interesting for me, and maybe many others.

I probably don't speak for everyone, but I don't care much about the gameID that I only see in a kill message, or landing kills. They may be great people, but if all they do is show up in a system message, meh, who cares, ya know?

Anyway, my $0.02.

Well if you're looking for a bomber type guy 999000 is probably the most widely respected bomber pilot in the game atm and I wouldn't mind reading an interview about him.

As others suggested, Corky or Widewing would also be excellent choices.

I think an LCA type would be interesting, if only to see what they do with the opportunity...

Widewing makes a heckuva lot of sense to me.  Think about all he's offered to the community, whether it be in the TA, the info on each and every AH plane and performance, and his incredible knowledge of the history, both of the planes and the people who flew them for real.  He also clearly knows how to get the best out of the planes in AH too.

I'm not sure what he hasn't done in this game to make it better.  I'd sure like to read that one.

999000 is a good bomber pilot to interview, Flossy would be great since shes a female.

Why not SheGotYa or TexasMom? they're both females that play the game regularly.

JRCCrow.  Commands the ~U.S.M.C.~ "Death Rattlers" and is an accomplished bomber pilot.  Plays regularly in special events and having met him personally in "real life" can say he's a stand up guy even though he might not be that tall when he stands up :p

Also served in the Marine Corps as I recall.

Bah!  Bomber pilot to interview only leaves 999000 in my mind.  Its all he does and a complete gentleman in the game.  I would read it :aok

Numerous people I would like to read more about.  Guppy, Widewing, Kev367th (skinnin), CM Team, Moderators (I know we cant ), TC (trainers).  But if a bomber is what you seek 999 is THE obvious choice.

btw, havent seen flossy over on bigweek either in a while come to think of it

Gotta do 999000, Has to be the most respected Bomber pilot is the game.
When ever you hear the word Bomber pilot, 90% of the MA has to think 999000

well if ya do 999000, it must be a dual interview with Tater, make good print since the split.

With hard hitting questions like....

Who was awarded custody and why?

Did Tater leave you because he was jealous of your bombing skills?

And 999000 do you feel like the hero to the two week trialer's who have similiar cpid's?

BTW, as an aside I think 999000 gets most respect as a bomber GUNNER, not specifically as a bomber. I know I've run into him at least a few times, but usually at alt and on a bombing run (not counting ackstars upping from capped fields).

That was my point about defining "bomber pilot". No offense intended to 999, but is he a dedicated bomber pilot or a demon from hell manning guns on a B-17??

No disrespect meant to 999, but saying he's a dedicated bomber pilot is like saying I'm a dedicated E fighter. He may be in bombers, but he's most definitely not flying them like bombers.

go Thndrbut.

I've heard about this 999000 guy, but i think i remember a few encounters with him when i just started about three months ago. I remember dying and thinking he was a noob (because of his name 999000) then being shocked by his accuracy. So, this guys good ha, i'll have to attack him sometime and see:D

P.S. I nomiminate BmbrPuke for bomber pilot interview

i'd really be interested to see what they do on those long climbs to altitude and long flights to target, followed by long flights back home.

Only time I do it is when we get stuck with buffs in the Friday Squad Ops, and if it wasn't for the witty squad banter, I'd probably fall asleep.

Here's an idea, why not interview a bomber who actually climbs to alt and uses the bombsite!  There's many to pick from!

I like 999, but he's the very same type of bomber guy you guys constantly complain about.  Ups, flies NOE, ditches bombs in...if he even gets that far.  What 999 is super good at is fighting the guys off in the gun turrents.  And he's gentlemanly enough to always salute you for getting him or visa versa.  That's the reason for his popularity, certainly not his bombing style  LOL

He also loves to try upping from a vulched field (read he loves to man his guns)  If you let his bombers get into the air, beware, the man is a crack shot with those guns

Truthfully I really don't consider myself much above average in bombers..a decent gun always trying to honor my opponet with my best effort..but there are many excellent really excellent BOMBER pilots that have been mentioned here already...I have much respect for our true vets guys like B52G who flew over 400 missions in vietnam in B52G's  This Gentelmen is one of  our true war hero's who is  a  class act! ..and has great war stories to tell.
I'd be honored to share my little perspective of the game ..a microcosim of real life... They say yoou can tell alot about a person by the way they play..think it holds true here also.  AW was a great community much more than a game.
I really enjoy those who are positive respectful and "give" to the game and make it a wonderful place to be. To me this is much more important than stats and kills per hour or perks. The whole game is a huge perk to me! and we really don't hear as much appreciation for Dale Hitech and the crew that they deserve!

I'd say 99000 also
But you have to remember - all he was was a drone goon pilot in Air warrior
Once he was able to actually shoot back at something, he went nutso...

Does he actually take bombs up with him?
I always assumed he dropped them on the runway and was giggling like a lunatic as one after another ijot came up on his 6 from 2k away and he shot them down with that laser guided pointer stick he uses.

Teufl has been a good buff runner for years, I'd say NB but I don't think he has ever upped a bomber, let alone even know that he has a choice in the game to fly a bomber.
Hub could be your next interview for tongue in cheek sarcasm.
Now if you are looking for hiding in the ack experts, well, let me know when you want to talk.

O i have to speak on this one!!!!!! Bomber pilots you say?? there are many in the game i would love to read about thats for sure.

lET ME SAY THAT YES 999000 IS A VERY GOOD BOMBER PILOT
maybe not the most accurate at high alts seems we dont have much experience at that (but we could do it)\

KNOW we are saying bomber pilots so if we look at this as a whole that would include 1)statagey2)boMbing accuracy 3)knowledge of the map and etc4) ABILITY 5) AND CERTAINATLY NOT THE LAST GUNNING

I WOULD LOVE TO READ WHAT HE HAS TO SAY ABOUT ALL OF THESE THINGS
HE IS A STAND UP GUY AND A VALUE TO THE GANE IN MY OPINION

everyone seems to know him but i do have a couple of concerns 1)how much do i have to pay to get my name mentioned with his:D and 2) i will only read it if you get his secret accuracy code!!!!!

no really cant wait to read it when will it be ready filth??
ps sorry for misspellings trying to write with boss not seeing lol

Hate to nominate myself, but all i fly is bombers this tour (77) i had 572 bomber sorties and my hit percentage is better than 999s(999=70%....1Epic1=112%)... Just to put my name out there...killing some on your 6 isnt hard at all.

999000 is an excellent choice.

1epic1 anything close 112% is most excellent Sir! Like I said many excellent bomber pilots here.  Kinda weird with a hit % that high why you don't get more kills? 572 sorties 111 kills and 14 assist. Where I have 942 sorties with 579 kills and 54 assist? and many times I'm getting slautered trying to bust a field cap.
Epic do you do very high alt runs? because i think there is a correlation of more fighters just attacking from the six like you say. and probably more often just one at a time.

999000 is the obvious choice as everyone has heard of him or at least has read his name in the buffer as the one who just shot yo silly self down.however, i have a squaddie who has been in the game for a while who consistently can knock all 3 hangers down at a vh low alt in b-26s with one pass and flys into carrier groups on the deck with b-26s and has much success killing carriers.Chuck-- GMC31st. plus,he is a very sick man and i would like someone to probe his inner demons.

For bomber pilots, I'd go with 999000 simply because he's a gentleman and one of Aces High's genuinely unique characters. Tatertot is another, and if he still plays, Plumbit would be on my short list too.

no offence to anyone intended here.. but i want to see interviews of people everyone loves (Dan aka Guppy), or everyone loves to hate (NathBDP, Shane, any one of the BK's), or at least everyone knows (Any big mouth on channel 200).  we need interviews of the people who add a lot to the community of aces high through a technical sense (widewing) or through their character whether it is good or bad (JohnnyRA, FTDeep).

it is no fun reading an interview of someone who nobody knows.  A bit of controversy wouldn't go amiss.

people who nominate themselves most definitely shouldnt be interviewed, as they are the only ones who will likely bother reading it!

All of the above is strictly my opinion of course.

I have been lucky to count myself as squadmates and friends of all these fine bomber pilots:

999000
Tatertot
B52G
JRCCrow
RDRTrash
BombsAway

I would have to say that if I wanted to know how to deliver bombs and return to base, I would talk to JRCCrow, Tatertot and RDRTrash.  If I wanted to know how to gun better, I would talk to 999000 or Tatertot.  If I wanted to have a great interview with real world experiences, I would talk to B52G.  I respect all of them, and they would be good bomber interview subjects.  BTW, B52G is still trying to learn me how to fly like a real military pilot.

My regards,

Widewing
Plumbit was / is an bellybutton though. NOE ackstarring, he would laugh at someone he shot down, thinking he's all that. egotistical bellybutton IMHO. but thats just me

But can Filth ask the tough questions?

Filth: Dan since we now know that the rooks had no weapons of mass destruction can you tell us the real reason we went to war?

Dan: Its the damn liberal medias fault.

When you say the word bomber guy,  999 is usually the first to come to mind with the community.  Hell, anyone here not been shot down by him?  Also, Corky/Dan would never be a bad choice for an interview.  Both are very good fellows and articulate.:aok
