You know, there are some rock song intro's that just make you want to turn up the volume to 11.
Sweet Home Alabama comes to mind, but the best song intro IMNSHO is still "Rocky Mountain Way"...
best played at ear bleeding levels.

ronnie van zant asks you to "turn it up" in the opening licks. I agree with both of those and I add "stranglehold" by the Nuge. there are others that don't immediately come to mind. foreplay/long time also

As for intros I just love the simplicity of this one. Sticks in your head for hours.
Of course as for rip the knob off intro's, I'd have to go with Mountain's "Mississippi Queen".
