Here's a short Monitor article. My own opinion is that expanding executive is anti-constitutional. But all know is what I learned in 6th and 8th grade civics.

then it wont stand in courts of law. If it does, then you are wrong. Correct?
-
yup, unless the justices are blinkered. but then, you're right again.

I suspect that the congress will never allow that to occur. part of the brilliance of the articles of separation is that one branch can only aquire power at the expense of the others. the branch that concerns me the most is the judiciary. these people potentially have the power to create an oligarchy, I don't think the executive will ever be able to crown himself king.

On several occasions in history 'centrist' judges have defied the chief executive with supreme court rulings.. Lincoln, FDR, Johnson..
I believe it was johnson that said 'then they can enforce that law themselves.. we won't'.
how many THOUSANDS of laws are on the books NOW that are not enforced?
as an example.. on the immigration issues.. the laws are on the books now that will penelaize employers, deort illegals and sets quotas.. all unenforced.
The 'power' in this country is held by the chief executive.. he controls his own police force and judicial team.. the Attorney General and the armed departments of the treasury, BATF, FBI, NSA, CIA, etc. and of course "Homeland Security".
Ruby Ridge.
Waco.
Smarten up, kids.
Like Bush said.. "...the constitution is just a god-damned piece of paper!"

Storch,
it's my hope congress despite all it's innumerable flaws, still remembers grade school civics.

Now that's wrong. Period. In fact, it's worse than wrong.

Hang, there were no "witnesses" named. I'd take that website with several grains of salt.

I dunno if any GOP guys have confirmed it.. but I don't doubt for a minute that's exactly the sentiment the Bush Leauge plays by.

That would be all well and nice, if the Republican controlled legislative branches did their jobs. That thing called "oversight." But when Congress is not just playing dead, they muster the oomph to tackle such critical issues as god and gays and flags. It's ridiculous.

You're deluding yourselves. One day, the people of this country will look back upon the history of our presidents and recognize the greatness of George W. Bush. That will be his legacy.

"Great times make the man."
Bush is a good president (so far). I know you are being sarcastic, but I am not. Unless he changes a few things, he will not even come close to being a great president.
