What does the 442 stand for on the Olds 442.
-
4 bbl carb, 4 speed tranny, and ummmmm 2 wheel drive? It sounds cheezy (its not like 4-wheel drive was an option) but I think I read that somewhere.

Your so close Regurge I'll give it to you. It's actually 4bbl, 4speed, and dual exhaust.

Friend used to have one, Dark green metallic with white vinyl coated roof.
I was quite amazed when he put a blower on it... Guess 455cid didn't got enough punch (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
Here in Helsinki were another fine Olds too, type H/O (Hurst/Olds) but some criminal burned it (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

LOL cool Staga. I've always been partial to the 442. Really nice cars. Olds was one of the few (if not the only back then) truly concerned about making there sedans turn a corner. Lots of Oldsmobile's have both a front and rear anti-sway bar. Great torque band too. I had a buddy in High School that had a 69' Olds 442 convertible that his dad bought new. It was a very nice running car.
