Actually, Winchester is supposed to mean you're empty of all stores but guns. It applies better to modern fighters, but I guess it works here too. :D
-
and, the way I remember it--an "auger" is an intentional crash, not just a crash. :)

You have that backwards OOZ.. "Winchester" refers specifically to ammunition. Here's a quick source (http://www.hazegray.org/faq/slang2.htm).

It's an inside joke about numbers guys, you see people in the M.A. (main arena) that use the default numbers as their cpid (computer player identification) & have squeeky voices because they haven't reached puberty yet.
So if you see a numbers guy like this -----> 99873564 & he sounds like Mickey Mouse....be prepared to squelch him, because he is going to hold his radio button down & tell you every little move he is making even to the point of saying "I bailed out, someone cover me until I can get pick-up on the ground!" over & over....& over
But not all numbers guys are like that, some are just shades (second accounts) for regular players.

He's a player in Bishland that is very annoying! He often screws up the missions, yells at people over range vox, and just is a pain in your butt! My squaddies call him Area code, its rather funny! lol.......I think he has good intentions, but just needs to learn to watch his temper and learn what is suppose to be said over vox as far as, "I BAILED, NEED SOMEONE TO PICK ME UP! CALL IN THE JEEPS!!!!" Just as long as you dont do this, you'll be fine! lol

I think they really just don't know any better & refuse to believe no one is ignoring there requests for extraction, even after being told it's just not possible.:)
-
Yeah, i always just ended sortie. never even thought about jeep extraction...
-
I had to have a Jeep extracted once.
Note to all: Chryslars are not supositories
-
Wife/dinner/etc ack: Play time over due to external (or is it infernal?) influence
Tater: 30mm or other atypically large aircraft-mounted cannon, generally in reference to the 109K-4
Lawndart: A porker and/or vulcher who forgets to pull out of his dive
Pork: To destroy a resource at an airfield. Generally referring to fuel, ordinance and troops. Porked: A porked resource is one either no longer available (IE, troops and ordinance) or reduced (fuel) at a given field
Astronaut: A bandit flying at ludicrously high altitude, so far above the engagement that there's really not even a point to him being up there
Ack-Ack: See Astronaut ( ;) )
Bish: See Astronaut
UFO 1: See Astronaut, VERY frequently used in reference to N1K2s 2: Mysterious dots that appear in the sky, LOOK and generally even behave like another plane outside of con range, but aren't actually anything.
Foofighter: The historical term (seen it in the MA once or twice) for UFO #2.
Dweeb: A Spit or ElGay pilot :D
Hog: F4U
Mildcat: F4F/FM-2 (I personally don't like that one. You gotta fear the kitten :D )
ElGay: Generally La7, but sometimes applied to the La5 (only moderately ghey)
Dweebfire and the billions of permuations of: A Spitfire of any type(duh)
Vulching: It's called BASE SUPPRESSION, DANGIT! :furious
Furballers: Pilots who don't like to blow up ground targets or "win the war" and spend their time flying around in circles ;)
Toolshedders: The opposite of the furballers. WARNING: Furballers and Toolshedders are HIGHLY incompatible, and mixing of the two in one thread generally yields explosive results. If you must store Furballers and Toolshedders together handle with care and do not expose to open flames.
Fun Police: A pilot, or group of pilots, seen to be spoiling the fun of another group of pilots by trying to forcibly impose THEIR idea of fun. Generally but not exclusively used in reference to dropping fighter hangars, sinking carriers or otherwise preventing the enemy from feeding a furball by using bomber formations to attack strategic/tactical targets. Note that the application of this term is highly subjective and not in all cases accurate.
Ack: Generally, any type of fixed surface-to-air weapon, including manned and unmanned gun emplacements, 5" guns aboard the task groups and "puffy ack" (traditional flak).
Cheater: While at times this term CAN be applied based on its true definition, it is more commonly used by inexperienced pilots to explain why a veteran was able to school their oscar. Frequently in cases where the newbie is flying an advanced late-war fighter and gets their butt handed to them by an inferior or early-war aircraft.

Wilco- Will Comply
Say Again- say that again
Repeat- fire again

what about ran-out-of-beer ack??
-
Tally Ho generally means that you've visually spotted a bandit.
IE "Tally Ho 109!"
It may or may not also imply that you're engaging said bandit (seems to go both ways).
-
The way my squaddies and myself use "tally ho" is we are engaging.
example......."Tally ho, La la 9 o'clock low" I am enaging La5/7 to my left at a lower alt.
But thats just us, i do know other people use it other ways.
-
Generally that's how I use it: I've seen the con and am engaging him.
But I've also seen it used by other people to say they've got visual.
-
I have previously used it (when in a bomber) to say "All bombs away"
