Title: Dutch NATO F-16 interception comless aircraft
Post by: Wolfala on July 02, 2006, 03:40:47 PM
On saturday the 24th of june 2006 two F-16 figthers where scrambled from Leeuwarden airbase in the Netherlands to intercept a comless aircraft over the Netherlands.

This flight, HMS1963, b737-3S1 of Hemus Air Bulgaria (LZ-HVB) had pushed 132.065 instead of 132.085 when changing from ATC controller. Bandbox (fighter control) cannot be heard due to the distance of the transmitter. After the intercept the fighters switch back to DutchMill.

Reach toward your butt and pull out the pink panties that are in a bunch back there.

I don't think he was posting this to bash anyone just for info sake.  Wolf is an avation enthusiast.

Well like Wolfala posted...

They punched up the wrong freq, ATC had no contact and in this post September 11th world they assume the worst.

Normal procedures in this case would be go back to your last assigned frequency but depending on where they were...for instance over one of the North Atlantic tracks talking to one of the control centers there, they might not be able to hear the previous controllers on that old frequency because of the location of the ground communication stations.

Basically they dialed in 123.45 instead of 123.54.
