Sorry we couldn't talk more earlier today i had a party to go too.
Your question was :
How is taking a crappy plane to a huge Alt advantage any different from a good plane at a disadvantage?
My answer would be there is no difference for i always go above 10-K no matter what plane i am in, there is just more room too manuver in above that altitude.Plus it was instilled in me from the days of flyin with the 880.Having the alt advantage doesn't always mean you will come out alive.
At the start of our engagement earlier i was at 11.1 -K and you were at 8.2 -K.Upon merge i was lower than you were at 9.1 -k too your 9.9 -K.I am still shocked that it was you that flat turned and HO'd, i was expecting a babyseal and not yourself.I mean that with no disrespect too you either simaril and this post in no means is a way of taunting bickering or anything like that i just wanted too answer you since my MA time was cut short earlier today.

Well....
Your posting certainly answers several of my unspoken questions. Seeing that Todd420 is Autopilot and TedStryker, I can understand the attitude issues I was trying to point out.
If you remember, my 200 chat comments were NOT about you being a picker or something, and didnt say anything about being at alt in general.
You may recall that you had gone ballistic after dying in your previous sortie, telling another player that "someone who's played a couple years has no business flying an easy mode plane."
Then you came in a P-40 at ~15K over a 5k fight, where the top alt arrivers were 10k. (I didnt film it, so these are my recollections.)
So my point was pretty simple: If you think experienced players shouldn't fly with a qualitative advantage, why do you fly with an extreme altitude advantage? Either way, you're using something to ensure that you have an advantage -- but at least the lower guy in a Spit VIII could possibly get hurt, while the 5K alt advantage properly used means you're taking no risk at all.
AS you said to me, "altitude is life" -- but if you're allowed to be high in a bad plane, why cant the other guy be lower in a good plane? Seems to me to be an equal exchange. And THAT was the point I unsuccessfully tried to get accross.
My comments were NOT about the sortie, but about the self contradictory attitudes -- which boiled down to "what i do is right, and what you do is wrong."
___
And I have a bit different recall of the sortie. You came from 5k above and behind, I spilt-S'd at first then tried to do a relatively low G spiral turn upward as you went vertical to regain my 6. That moved my nose toward your tail as you went over the top well above me, and denied you my 6. By the time you came into the downward part of the loop, my nose was approaching your 12 -- and as you merged nose to nose I shot, not getting anything. (Honestly, not much experience with HO's anymore :lol). As I recall, you rolled into a spilt S then came back up, again coming right toward my nose but from below as I continued to spiral climb upward while maintaining some maneuver speed. As you bored into me, I fired again. You took out my engine, and I got killed by your numerous countrymen as I tried to egress deadstick. (The 3rd guy got me after I evaded the first 2.)
EDIT: as I reread, your description proves I didnt flat turn -- you report me as gaining 1.7K between the first and second merge. IF that's a flat turn, then I guess I'm guilty.
As much as I can, I avoid HO shots because I want to do much better than 50/50. When an enemy bores in on my nose, I'll pull the trigger (cause they usually do) -- especially when they have 50s and I have cannons.

Gotta say this doesnt ring true, to say it kindly.
Might I suggest that if you sincerely want to avoid taunting or bickering, you might consider using the PM or Email options in the BBS. A player who was honest about not wanting to draw public attention to someone's flight wouldnt have posted it as a PUBLIC thread.

Simaril you want me too send the film too you?
As much as I can, I avoid HO shots because I want to do much better than 50/50.
I forced that shot on you, i presented it that way and you fell for it , but you still flat turned and HO'd.
You came from 5k above and behind,
In the film when it was clear i was gunning for you, i was at 11-K doing 214 MPH and you were at 8-K going 300+MPH.I dove down too gain speed and at that point i was lower than you.
you might consider using the PM or Email options in the BBS.
Simaril put it out on front street by typing it on 200 and i had too go so i made a thread knowin he surfed these boards. As far as taunting and bickering, it's all about Mind over Matter, they don't matter so i don't mind.Oh and Simaril the operational altitude for the P-40 Echo is 14-K which is what i fly at generaly all the time.
