Title: Web Host Recos?

JG44 is investigating a new web host service.  Do any of you fellow AH'ers have any recommended services? (or maybe bad services you would avoid)

did you check with your isp ... i get 25 mb with mine per email addy . its not enough for films or large file saves ,,, but its enough for most general squad pages if thats your desire ...

My ISP is awfully slow in terms of web host service.  I could probably host it there if we had to, but would rather find a cheap/free service that is quicker.

Anyone else?

Thanks Motley.  A little hefty in terms of price for 1GB storage and 40 GB Bandwidth...but will consider.

I use this service (http://www.revolutionhosting.net) but I have seen better. I just forgot where. :lol The thing about this one is you get service just like HTC; you can call the guy behind the server, contact them most of the time over AIM/MSN messengers, or email them. One time I had an issue with a program I was trying to jerry-rig onto my webspace and the head of the company went through 450 lines of coad for me at 8:00 PM at his own home to find out that there was a 737 where a 777 should have been (a CHMOD setting for the curious junkies). That's what I call service! ;)

EDIT: Heh, the one he thought was hefty was a much better deal than mine...oh well, small company with good service means higher price, I guess.

I use http://www.lunarpages.com .  I've been quite happy with them.  It's where I host all my AH content.

I've had a lot of success with http://www.hostgator.com

their service is superb and they have some reasonably priced packages
