Anyone ellse get as frustrated with this program as me?
I mean it does what I want to do. Just not HOW I want to do it
Example.
I want to keep track of my expences.
All I want to have to do is open the expence listing. Click on Tools
And lets say enter
7/5/06 4 - Paintbrushes -$16.00 each- 6% Sales tax = $67.84
and lets say then click on Expences. then click Job Material and be able to enter
7/5/06 3 - bags Concrete mix - $3.94 each - 6% sales tax = $12.53
And so on and so forth
I dont want o have to go through listing the Vendor or billing scedual as I always pay when I receive.
Not to mention I tried going through its template and ended up showing me oweing $147 on a $71.84 bill
ARRGGGHHHHHHH!

Used it for years, both with my own small business and in where I worked.
What was worse...the terrible support we paid top dollar for. Its seemed the person we got on the phone was trying, in every way possible, to ask us to go away and ask our question on their support forums.
I wish I could say the other programs out there were any better.

Quickbooks, for what it is, does a very good job. But, like any tool, is only as good as the person using it.
There is one rule of thumb to using Quickbooks. Never open a register. If you are editing a register, then you are not using the program correctly.
I finally got tired of all the extraneous stuff and obtained the SDK from Intuit and wrote a new front-end so the Wife and I could use it exactly for what we needed.
It does have a lot of things in it which are not always needed by many people/businesses. And it uses ActiveX for its updates. Bzzzzzttttt. WRONG! That was the first thing to go.
It sound like you need to make use of the 'jobs' functions. Where you start a job and then enter expenses and income for the job. It has all that functionality. Check the help pages.
