I've noticed that a lot of players have hit %'s in the Attack vs. enemies in the 60 or 70 % range, yet in Fighter only around 10 or 11 %. Anyone care to share how they bump up the Attack %?
Thanks.

Straffing runs. Hits on enemy objects and GVs also count toward Hit% while in attack mode. In fighter mode only hits on enemy planes count. Hence the descrepancy.

Thanks for the response Murdr. I understand hits on ene GV's count but could you get 60 or 70 % that way - seems improbable. So what "objects" count in that vs. enemies ranking? Shore Battery's perhaps? There has to be something fairly large and easy to hit to score that high.

AFAIK, bombs count into hit% as well. Meaning, kill two GVs with one bomb and get a 200% hit%.....
Or, more probable, 1 rocket 1 kill = 100%

Strafing town buildings can get high accuracy anyway -- you can blow entire ammo load with very few misses, and the little boogers don't move around like airplanes and vehicles!

This means hits on buildings count, too, when you are in attack mode. Most rounds hit when you straffe a town, and you fire lots of them, increasing your hit percentage substantially.

Yes but doesn't shooting buildings scores under the vs. objects - not vs. enemies. Or am I wrong?

You are wrong. Hit% vs Objects is ordonance only. You strafe them= Hit percentage vs. Enemies . You Bomb them= Hit percentage vs objects. Same as in GVs.

Wow that seems odd but I'll take your word for it. Thanks to all for the info.

Been testing the scoring system over the past few months. I won't share
all my theories and findings, but here's a nugget or two.
First sortie in a new AvA tour(same scoring system): I went to an enemy runway in attack mode. Straiffed an empty runway with 10 connon rounds from a Hurri IIC and saw one miss. Ditched. Attack Hit% v enemy was 90%.
No wonder people vulch. Even the misses count for something(not in fighter though). The runways and several other concreat objects are distroyable and are viable targets for attack straifing. Their hardness makes them impossible to distroy but you still get credit for trying.
This does not work for ord. You must destroy an object for it to count. One tour I used ord in attack to kill GVs almost exclusively. 3 bombs on a P47-D40 would net more than 2 kills on average. Closer to 2.25. That should give me around 75% yet I got stuck with 12% but tours end. I had helped out on killing a few towns and used rockets(scores same as a bomb) to suppress ack.
Enemy are not objects so any bomb kill on a tank or plane is a miss.
Even if they are on a runway. Well...unless you destroy the runway...not likely.
There are other anomalies in the scoring system, but most of them I have to test 1 or 2 at a time on a fresh tour. So it's slow work.

So if you strafe an enemy runway it counts as hits in vs. enemy? Now that REALLY seems odd. I know there has to be something that is "easy" to hit or people with 10 or 11 % hit percentages in Fighter wouldn't be at 70 % in Attack.
