You have 5 answers to choose from:

A) Yes, my political beliefs are the same as both my parents were..

B) The same as my mothers

C) The same as my fathers

D) I support a different party than my mother or father.

E) Neither of my parents had an opinion in regards to politics.

Edit: This is just informational, please do NOT slam someone for where they adopted their particular politically minds from.

Both parents are Labour voters, but seem to lean more towards the centre ground in British Politics.

I'm more left-wing.

My dad is a retired public school teacher (so is my grandmother).

My mother works at Wayne State University.

They live in a suburb of Detroit.

They are pro- everything and staunch Democratic all the way.

I won't call myself pure Republican (after all, I voted Perot in '92 <no need to flame me, it was one of my bigger mistakes and I've already flamed myself> ) but I'm pretty close.

Short answer: not even close  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

A) Yes, my political beliefs are the same as both my parents were..

My father was blue-coller.
My mother was a housewife who didn't work outside the home.

I'm the oldest of 8 children, for what its worth....

The same as my parents.

They NEVER voted "the party" they voted in this order:

1. the best interests of the nation

2. the best interests of the family

3. the best interests of the individual

Rarely did the decision have to go past the first consideration.

Usually, the choice was/is very clear....at least for those who build their life around the twin principles of personal responsibility and personal accountability.

I guess it's different for those that look to government to save them from themselves.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until a majority of voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse out of the public treasury.

(A.)

Both my parents were actively involved in politics and were close supporters on on the campain several years running for a congressman in Wisconsin back in the early 80s.  Got me interested early...although I don't like yammering on about politics endlessly, I do like a good educated argument now and then.

E) Parents never voted that I can recall.

Being in the military, I don't see how I can not vote. Every service member should vote. After all, your selection might very well be the man who sends you into a life and death situation.

 Answer: D

Or, they never fostered it upon me to see things their way.

Kind of funny to watch the 20-somethings in the office talk about the politicians and thier rhetric. They're literally emulating thier parents for the most part and don't even realise it  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
