It's a good thing all the important stuff is taken care of.

"Supporters of the measure argued that Internet betting can be addictive and can lead people to lose their savings."
More nannification of the land of the free, home of the stupid.

Here comes one of many attempts at trying to clip the freedom of the internet. Looks like their prying the door open slowly. Watch them re-open the online gambling gates once they tax it.

Our Congress is going to try and turn us into as much of a nation of nebbish as Great Britain is now.
Soon they will be lobbying for controls to keep people free from any harm as the "people" are obviously too freaking stupid to be left out on their own.

Huge surprise.
But this isn't nannification, actually.
This one has more to do with the gaming lobbyists (huge) not wanting competition against their casinos coming from the internets.
So in this case, more corporate coddling. These days it's either that, nannying, or throwing a bone to their haters (base).

Good! I hope they close the Indian casinos too... they encourage people to lose and lose it all, heck you can mortage your house within the Indian casinos here in Connecticut; they have atms and 24/7 banks within to do just that.
I really don't think the 'Great Ghost Dance' involved blackjack.

Yep.... competition for the government sponsored gambling and a cut into the tax base.
This one probly has the support of every politician of any ilk... it is certainly bipartisan.
