Just logged out of MA due to boredom. No fights to speak of, just 7-8 hordes taking undefended bases. Seemed like an equal number of hordes on all 3 sides-
Is taking undefended bases more fun than a battle? Or is it that no one wants to have there pixels get shot down?
I just dont get that big of a thrill hording undefended bases while just a sector away the NME is hording an undefended friendly base. To me the game would be alot more fun if the hordes would face each other. Sure pixels would die, and maybe no bases would be captured- but there would be actual ACM! Just imagine it!
It seems to be a late night trend- I hope it changes, but I wont hold my breath:(

i'm sure you can find a fight if you defend one of those bases
-
word! nightshift.
our squad has been moving 2, 3 even 4 sectors infront of the horde to stop the anti-vulchers coming in high, and to enable the capture.
good fun recently, and great new map.

l like small maps, keeps 500-600 players together on a small front line, is always action, more fun

A 36 for sale tonight! Only 12.95 $$.... GET IT NOW!

I've tried defending, but you see the offensive is usually a horde of 10 or more. I'm not a bad stick, but I'm no match for 10 players. I call out the incoming horde but its as if no one cares- or is brave enough to help.
Maybe I'll fly a faster plane, attack the NME horde, then drag the guys that attack me, back to the closest friendly horde- Seems lot alot of work just to have a decent battle take place- I'll let ya know how it works

Thats why I like the big maps, in fact the bigger the better. Especially donut as it gives the guys who like fighters their own little world. Which means the rest of us who like other things can get some enjoyment. lol
-
Amen brotha man amen...I could care less about dying so i up just to see how many i can ho taking off in an IL2
-
LOL yeah all they are basically doing is just swapping unoccupied bases lol, its basically a race to see which side can take them the quickest lol
-
I call that the milkrun merry-go-round or the horde shell game. Sure, one guy can up to fight the horde and they'll happily gang-gang him, but if enough people up to prevent a speedy capture the horde will simply fo-geta-bout-it and pick-up toys to some other undefended field 15 sectors away. This is what most of the HUGE maps are all about...NON-Fighting. Personally I just find something better to do with my sparse free-time.

Wierd way to admit that you avoid enemy planes at all costs.
-
To be honest, i prefer the bigger maps too. Simple reason: The green planes are spread out a bit more. On the small maps its very often 2 or 3 horde vs horde to choose from.
Much easier to find a decent 3-5 vs 1 on the big maps.

Tonight it was really easy to find fights. It is a matter of staying near your field and you will see a few cons or go to theirs and see alot. Personally the conga line gets old so I spend most of my time being outnumbered.

Lol as always you guys in fighters cant see further than your joystick. This game is not all about you. Others pay the same amount...there are gvs and boats and buffs in this game as well ya know. where do all those fit into your non base taking big furball mentallity. Like I said I love the donut map as it keeps all of you guys occupied and out of my way lol. Take me... as an example... I never fly fighters I just am no good at it... but I like trying other things in the game... most times you will find me outnumbered defending a base, or running onto a defended base in a tank. Undefended ???? I think you guys must be on at a different time of day to me. In the year I have been playing I have never took an undefendedd base or for that matter ever found one. If you like fighting so much just find me lol I am always getting beat up and ganged from the moment I log on but I love the action .Personally I dont get the idea of taking off from a base with lots of others to dogfight with no objective over a huge central expanse of water. Vulching a runway with lots of cap... skillful ???? and why cap a field if you aint going to take it ????. BUT....BUT.... I respect your enjoyment and skills that I dont posess. Its your money and you do what you like with your time but please respect others enjoyment and dont be so quick to degrade it. This game has alot more to it than dogfighting and is developing more all the time. On that note I guess then that means none of you will be in operation downfall trying to take bases, I mean that is the whole objective to the scenario. :lol

Ok, so you've played 1 year, you rarely fly fighters because you feel you're not good at it...SO you resign yourself to the land-grab game...?
Ok, do you think any of us would be any good if all we did was dip our big toe in the Fighter pool, found the water was chilly and pull it quickly out?!? Hell, no... you're only going to understand the mind of the fighter jock if you do as we did, spend literally years, practicing, duelling, practicing, watching films, practicing, get your arse kicked and practice some more.
I can teach a guy from work to GV or buff competantly in about 8 minutes...I couldn't teach that same person to be a good fighter pilot...ever...in a million years, it's all about practice and experience...This is the core difference between the land-grab types and the fighter purists...Unfortunately for the game there are too many people that lack the patience, desire and drive to learn to become a good fighter pilot, it is primarily these types that resign themselves to the ranks of the tool-shedding, milk-running, landgrabbers...Trying to equate the years of practice it takes to be a good fighter pilot to the dive-bombing buff jock or spawn camping gv dude is laughable...To say that they should be treated or weighted equally as a focus of gameplay is disgusting...

Jeez JD you don't know what your missing. There isn't anything in this game as good as good fight.
A good fight is burned into your memory. It's incomparable to anything else here.

And he pays $15 a month to meet your expectations?

So i guess what you are saying is that all the vets just started playing and were vets. Nobody gets to go through the aging and maturing process because you dont like it that way anymore. For my $15 a month im going to play the way i want, and not criticize you or any one else for the way they play, and i would think we all could do the same. Just my 2 cents.

doh...again let me make this clear... I dont care how long it took you to get good or what you enjoy or dont... it means as much to me as what i like does too you.... you do what you want and I will do the same ...but whether you like it or not this game is not just about fighters and some people like taking bases,,, some like controlling cv,s some like gvs ... just because you like to use fighters doesnt make you any more useful to this game or the country you represent... in fact you represent no one except yourself as you change countries more ofen than I change socks. yes I know why you change... to even things up... thats great but some of us prefer to play with the same guys...you may be great in the air and in an ostie... but your idea of what is fun isnt the same as everybodies... for instance i wouldnt leave the guys i was fighting with and land an ostie because I might get bombed but hey if adding a few perks and seeing your name in lights means that much go ahead ...and skill in gvs ...how would you know I have never seen you in a tank...or run supplies you are an out and out fighter/ostie player ... i think because I try everything i get more value from the game but hey we all think differently. But I aint standing around watching you fighter guys pretend you are gods and the rest of us are meaningless . For me the dogfighting effect on the overall game is at best minimal. But thats the game as I see it not your view.
I tried to make it clear I respected others skills that I didnt have but as usual you engaged your mouth before dropping the cluch on your brain.... I have heard all this crap before it didnt impress me then it dont now and never will in the future. if htc wanted this as shootemup they wouldnt have added all the other features.Personally i hate guys that bomb fighter town maps..I love the fighter jocks as far from the base battles as possible.
