You were probably too slow. Going straight maybe... but have an eye on your speed indicator at all times... keep speed above 200 mph at the beginning, before you do any maneuvering.

Listen closely to the buzzing sound that comes before the buffetting (shaking and machine gun noise) - its your stall warn buzz. Go more easy on the stick and maybe nose low to speed up if you hear it.

you dont need to turn to stall. stalling occurs when you are flying too slow. that can happen when flying straight too ;)

I will probably be online sometime this weekend. Good guess is ill spend some time in the TA (training arena) as well. If you see me, just say hello and ask for help :). The / key opens radio to type in game ;).

But i can assure you, you have very high chances of getting help simply by logging into the TA. Dont give up if you dont get a response after ten secs, sometimes people need time to type or are busy helping someone else. Youll need a little bit of patience.

Not withstanding the great advice already put forth, also check the following:

You didn't mention which plane(s) was/were giving you problems. When selecting a plane in the hangar, check how much fuel you're taking off with and also check for ordinance. Any aircraft fully loaded with 100% gas, drop tanks, rockets and bombs will require some very sensitive touch getting it to fighting altitude.

A good all around fighter to begin with is a N1K2. Load it with 50% gas and select drop tanks which will give you some added range to grab some alt and get above the fight you're heading towards. Once you're ready to engage, drop the drop tanks (DT's) and go for it.

Also, check and calibrate your throttle. Are you using a joystick? If so, which one? Make sure your getting full manifold pressure.

Once you're airborn in any aircraft open the clipboard and you'll see "E6B"
Click on that and you'll see how much range/time your fuel load-out will allow you at WEP (War Emergency Power) which kicks in after hitting the P key on your keyboard, vs normal range (at maximum manifold pressure/RPM's) vs. maximum range (lower manifold pressure- indicated as M.P. and lower R.P.M's)

Make notes, online or offline, as to E6B range distances for the planes you fly.
They'll vary depending on fuel/ordinance/ammo load-outs.

Sorry if this all seems like "greeK' to you. It's a bit of a learning curve at 1st. You'll have it under your thumb in a week or two. If not, check back and someone will help you out :aok

Welcome aboard!
