Twin fifties means you better not pick a fight.  If you shoot someone
you'll just make em mad..and it's not like you can run away :D

But it will out turn the A6M2.

Also, I have shot down an F4F-4 using just the two 7.7mm machine guns on the A6M2 in AH.

I watched it take off so I know there was no other damage.  I was out of cannon ammo.  It was not a pilot kill and it didn't crash into the ground before I shot its tail off.

Not saying you can't get kills in the Oscar, but it's definitely a one
trick pony and will be a most frustrating ride in the MA at least.

But you probably had to empty those peashooters to do it, too. :D

that's probably how it was in real life too. Against the I-153s and such, and anything the Chinese had at the time, 2x 12.7mm were quite lethal. Also consider that many Italian rides had the same armament. Its a throwback from pre-war times.

In AH it would suck. 4x 50cal are adequate. The wildcat and mustang in AH have proven that. 2x 50cal are just banging your head against a concrete slab. The C202, SBD, TBM, and 109-without-cannon-rounds-left have proven that.

Nah, I had enough to have taken two more F4F-4s down.  It has a lot of ammo and I was glued to his tail.

Another thing, we don't need the Ki-43 for the MA.  We need it for scenarios and the AvA.

The Ki-44-II-Otsu would be better for the MA and it has the minimum effective armament of four 12.7mm machine guns.
