To tune of Dad's Army:
Who do you think you are kidding Mister Voller,
If you think we're on the run,
We've got the boys who can play this little game,
We've got the boys who can make you feel some pain,
So who do you think you are kidding Mister Voller,
If you think old England's done.
McManaman runs up the wing at 20 miles an hour,
Owen gets the header in with lots and lots of power,
So who do you think you are kidding Mister Voller,
If you think old England's done.

P.S. 5 - 1

interesting side note:
Holland lost to Ireland.
When playing Germany, England fans shout "Two world wars and one world cup." Dutch fans shout "Give us our bikes back."

Damn, Russia lost to Slovenia!
What the hell was that bloody 11-m shot on 90th minute for!?
:E
-
way to go blokes!!! are you serious though???? 5 to 1???????
WOW!!! Owen hat trick in Munich!!! Fantastic!!!
Wish we could report good news from this side of the pond... 3-2 loss to Honduras in Washington D.C. Stewart (plays for Breda in Holland) got stoned on a PK, but put in the other two goals for the US. heh, I still wore my jersey all day even after the loss. We played 10am ET to accomodate college football TV schedules.
-
yeah, 5 - 1 is pretty extreme huh. Less like a football score at international level.......more like a score from Championship Manager 3.........Man Utd v Gloucester City. ;)
Not that I'm comparing the German team to a 3rd rate non-league side. Wait.....yeah I am! :D

Spain 4 - Austria 0
Wich is the total last years?...around 18-1 or something like that?
:D
Spain rocks :)
-
And Ireland beat HOLLAND with only 10 men!!! 1-0 was the final score.
And on a side note the USA lost to Honduras, 2-3.
-
Trying to figure out if Fox will televise the England-Germany game again. I just have to see Owen's hat trick. That guy runs like his hair is on fire. But fantastic ball control.
-
Shame the US lost to Honduras. Are Honduras any good?
I'd like to see the whole England game again, but they repeated it at something like 3am over here.

and guess who was the first europian country to qualify :)

Fd ski,
Are we talking Group 5? ;)
You have to admit that Ireland has done a superb job in their group, 2. At present, the Irish are top of their group, which includes a powerful Portugal and, at least in theory, a formidible Holland. In fact, Ireland have yet to lose a match in Group 2 ;)

Hey, Dowding! I have an idea! I'll send you a Seattle Mariners baseball cap (best team in baseball right now - in fact, one of the best in baseball history, so far), and you send me a video tape of the England-German game :D

Schumacher restores Germany's pride
Spa-Francorchamps, he left the circuit yesterday as the most prodigious race winner in the history of the sport.
Schumacher’s 52nd career victory, one more than the record held by Alain Prost, was ample demonstration of his mastery of modern Formula One.
as he drove unchallenged to a victory that acted as an antidote to the disappointment of seeing his beloved Germany take a thrashing from England in Munich’s Olympic Stadium. The football fanatic watched the match with Ross Brawn, his technical director. When Michael Owen fired in England’s third goal, it was more than Schumacher could take and he sought the sanctuary of his bed.
Schumacher said. “I have to admit I was a bit down after the result but England hadn’t beaten Germany in Germany for 36 years, so I can live with that. Winning like this at Spa is magical for me. It is where I started and now I have broken the record here.”
He now rises head and shoulders above Formula One with records galore. There can be no questioning Schumacher’s pre-eminence, particularly here where the German has won five times in ten years, but sometimes you wonder whether the rest of Formula One really wants to win.
at least we can allways bet on our Uber-Schumi! :D
