*ShruG* I know there's a local "Prairie Dog Town" that's part of a State Park and considered a preserve. The kids love it. I know if a prairie dog was in my backyard burrowing, I'd want to get rid of it the most expedient way possible .... hopefully before the kids wanna adopt the bastidge.

while I was working in Montana a few years back I ran into some guys with an interesting hobby.
they had single shot bolt action rifles made from aircraft guns in .50 BMG.  they would take these monstrous guns and set up about 1500 yd. from a prairie dog town.
They say the guns are amazingly accurate even at that range.
