Man.....time flys when you`re having.............life.
The 8th of this month was our annivesary. Married 34 years to this one.
Yesterday was the date my Dad passed away 9 years ago. :(
This week one of my daughters is coming for a visit from S.D. along with 4 of my grandkids.
Seems like just a blink of the eye ago I was having fun aggravating the superintendent of our highschool every morning by coming to school on my motorcycle and racking the drag pipes just outside his homeroom window.
Time is overmodeled and should be perked. :)

Time didnt go.. you did and left it behind you.

Hehe Jackal,
My Dad was visiting his offsprings in Yurop two weeks ago, and after spending a day with my sis's 6 kids... he pretty much said the same thing. I still have a few dark hair... so I still feel safe at the moment :)
34 years??? Respect... after 3 I felt like exploding the entire neighbourhood myself!

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.

A few lines from Tell Sackett to the young, cross holstered idiot trying to provoke Cpn Roundtree while he is having a steak and a beer at Purgatory.
" Son, that old grizzly bear didn`t get all that gray hair and rawhide skin from sittin in the shade.
He`s took down a thousand strutting peanoodles just like you.
So boy....you better back away, while you still can , before you rile him up.
He`s trying to eat his supper and killing don`t sit well with a man`s upper."

I've heard time is tied directly to ones metabolism
the faster your metabolism is, the slower time seems to pass ...
that explains why when you were a kid, summer lasted forever and now 6 months pass like a week ...

I wondered about that. I had heard of a study a few years back where they showed an actual physical link to the passage of time, and not just that you get busier when you get older and it seems to pass faster. It never stated (hadn't determined at the time I guess) what the physical link was.

"Time is the flame in which we all burn."
How you use the time you have determines what you will accomplish with it. Not how much of it you have.
Have you made the world a better place for having been in it?

I think we prefer the term, "seasoned."

Seasoned? Ha! By his numbers, he's downright "rotten" :p

IMO, time gets faster as you age because a hour, day, year etc. represents less and less of your life. When you are 10, a year seems long because it 1/10 of your life. If you are 50, 5 years is a tenth of your life. A year is 1/20 th of your life and seems logical, it should pass seemingly twice as fast as it would for a 10 year old. Humans see thing from perspective and relativity. Wide open spaces is a WalMart parking lot until you've walked in big sky country. A long way is 12 blocks down until you've went "just down the road" in Texas. Five hundred dollars is a lot until you've bought your first car. A year is a long time until you spend 50.
That's why I think it seems to go faster. But what do I know? I have low metabolism :)
One thing is sure about time. You can't save it (IMO).
