Here ya go.
Will put up on http://www.ah-skins.com
-
cheers mate. thats ace. where do i put the files? lol sorry for being a nub
-
1) Create a folder inside the AH2/skins folder called spit12 (if you look at the skins files last spit one is spit11, always use the next number up)
2) Copy the files from the zip into there.
Will be available offline only.
-
cheers mate thats cool. how would i go about getting it available online? if poss

Won't be available in any online parts of AH2, only way is to submit it to HT then go through the validation process.
If approved, it gets built into a future skinpack.

OK after look at both picks .
kevs AH spit skin kicks the hell out of brand X.
New AH models are most definitely better than you know who's.

TY kind Sir.
I could point out a few inaccuracies in 'brand X'
1) Roundel red color is wrong, its the 1941 onwards duller red used by the RAF. Prior to this they used a brighter red, as shown on mine.
2) Looks like it is on a Spit Vb or Vc, look at the cannon bulges on the wings.
3) Sdn codes were usually Med Sea Grey, not white. Changed to "Sky Type S" in mid 41 when the camo went to grey/green and the roundels changed.
Only thing I can say for definate - The Sky blue (not "Sky Type S") tailband puts it after Nov/Dec 1940, so it might be a Spit IIb which entered service earlier. Still think it's a Vb though.
It was busy in Aug 1940 while with 609 sqn -
14th - Sgt Feary shot down a JU88
15th - Plt Off Ostazewski shot down an ME110
16th - Damaged in a taxiing accident.
-
cheers mate that looks ace. i'll have to submit it later. i hope it gets put in to skin pack later on. it would be ace haveing the correct skin for my sqn.
-
sounds a bit tech submitting a skin. lol. told my bro today i got a skin of his sqn on my game. he was chuffed. i just have to figure out how to submit it now
thanks for all you're help. sorry for being a pain.
-
Actually you could just ask Kev to submit it -- he knows how and he made the skin. I'm sure he wouldn't mind doing it.
-
thats a good idea.
Kev. please could you submit the 72 sqn skin for me. as you are ace :)

Few changes could turn it into an early 1941, 72 sqn, Spit IIa -

Also found this pic of a 72 sqn Ia, same codes as the previous one. Notice some kind of badge/art on the nose. This one is from the Battle of Britain.

Artwork could be the sqn badge, I'm not sure -

-
Got even better news, the Mk Ia reminded me of something -
Bullethead did a Spit Ia with the half black/white lowers and submitted it a long time ago.
Should be in the upcoming skinpack, and yup its a 72 Sqn one.
Should be the one in the pic from my previous post.
-
sweet. what about the mkIX do you think they would let you submit that?
-
Since you are a 72 Squadron fan. Got this from a friend who flew Spits with 266 during the B of B, then 72 Squadron as the RAF started the flights into France in 1941. He ended up as a Service test pilot for Supermarine on the Spit XII among others before returning to Ops with 616 on Spit VIIs and then Meteors.
The patch is from his wartime stint with 72 Squadron
-
sweet the only patches i have are from my bro when he served with them when they had the wessex helo's ect. he was a safty equipment guy. doing all the parachutes and ejecter seats, survival gear ect, i used to love walking round the base as a kid. his mates even shrank a berry ( not sure of spelling lol) for me.
