Title: Deer Hunting in NC

SO, when I need a break from the office and being inside, I love to hunt deer on the weekends. When I moved from Florida to North Carolina I had to give up my spot in my hunting club.

I was wondering if anybody in the AH Community is involved in a hunt club around the Raleigh, NC area.  It seems that there are very few clubs around here, and there are even fewer clubs with openings.  I'm not into  dog hunting, but I do love to still hunt.

Clevman....you join a club you'll find lots of kill stealers.  Although they probably know the best spots to spawncamp.  Don't let that deter you though, you cant walk 5 feet without running into the bastards.  And forgive me, but Raleigh is a bit urbanized for deer hunting dont you think?

My bro-in-law is from Bethune, SC just southeast of Charlotte. I've been hunting with him there several times and there was huge areas of public land to hunt on.

He lives here now, but I could ask him about hunting areas if you don't get any answers here.

Yeah, I've found the same, but I do have the itch to hunt this season... I just hate the people that swoop in and kill my deer while it's still on the runway!

There's a lot of wooded area around the outskirts of town to hunt, but there's nothing better than sitting near the capitol with my rifle and scaring people...  LOL

Clev I have some friends who live around the Raleigh area. I'll try to drop em an e-mail and see what they say.

(BTW I'm in Boiling Springs Lake, NC..just South of Wilmington)

From my experience the western part of the state(past Winston-Salem) is prime breeding grounds for the varmin.  You also get a nice mountain trip out of the deal too if you find the right place.
