Title: Movie finished! Scramble
Post by: B@tfinkV on July 20, 2006, 01:31:26 AM
Imagine the surprise at logging into a 4 on 4 Teams H2H arena that had 7/8 places already taken.......and finding that all seven are on the same team steam rolling undefended bases using bombers, fighters and goons........

well, only one thing for it, take up a spitfire Vb with double ammo load and see how just how angry we could make the hornets nest.

Film with fraps and edited in vegas, size is 35mb and playing time is a little under 7 mins.

LINK -----------> http://www.freeroleentertainment.com/_SCRAMBLE__.wmv

right click and 'save target as' to your desktop rather than letting it stream over the net will download in about 5 mins. set it up, grab a beer and some munchies, and it will be done :)

I would welcome any views and critisism on the camera shots and special effects in the last section, been experimenting a bit.

Thanks !

bat

LoL LoL, i liked it! Looked like you had some great fun there. We need a new petition: 12 player H2H... to make the teams fair!!! :D

I loved the effects in the end.

Yes, it was a bit dark at times.. i wonder if it would help to raise the gamma in game a bit before recording the AVIs....

Any ways. Great Movie Bat! Thank you.

I know you couldnt do much about the time of day, but it was a bit dark. I'm not sure if tweaking the contrast would do much except distort the images.

Yeah, I know batfink, I tried it in photoshop. Ended up with this lousy image:

Notice how "odd" the horizon looks? Yeah, terrible work on the contrast!

thanks for the film.
to me the bomber scene didn't look as dark as in stream's screenies.
liked the gun cam effect while you were landing at end.

Batfink, amazing gunnery. noticed how your site was set and am curious.
do you always use that high up head postion, where the site is above the glass mount? or just in planes that dont have much nose down view.

mostly i moved the head around in film viewer while capturing, to try and simulate a bit of g force. i like the simple round sights with a dot, and will head up till i see only a semicircle and a dot for the nose view.  i would never be able to shoot and move the head around while flying, always use the reflector sight.  i wonder if trackIR makes it possible to do this in game.

downloadin the vid, oh and ya with track ir you can do all sorts of head movement while flying :) Its a shame there have not been that many videos featuring track ir. Whats really great with tir is that you can slide your head sideways and look around the the gunsite for lateral deflection shots (great for slow rolling planes)

Wow just watched the video, i would love to have seen the text buffer :) That was some inovative editing specialy in the end!

i usualy pge up till i see a semi circle of gunsite with the dot right at the top of the reflector. most of that head movement in film was an attempt to show a few Gs and duck under the incoming bullets :)

Great video bat.  You told a great stoyr very well.  I was able to follow along with ease.  Great fights and great gunnery.  That ending was great.  Kill shots in that sortie flashing back while landing was a great idea.  At first I was geting confused during the end, but I figured out what you were doing in no time.

thanks for your reviews everyone! so glad that y'all enjoyed it. :)

music was some butchered (i edit them in soundforge to cut some of the vocals and skip right to the guitar solo) bits from Megadeth. unfortunately i got the files all named wrong some even listing them as the wrong artist.

i have researched a bit and found that both tracks were infact megadeth, the first one was 'Tornado of souls' and the second we still aint sure about :)
