Anyone here read that rag?

It makes the National Enquirer look like the BBC.

The only Guardian I know is a British broadsheet. I don't read it myself.

I guess it would be considered 'liberal' over here. Over your way, it would be considered communistic.

I had a High School(California) "Social Studies" teacher during my Senior year(1967)who forced us to read the "Manchester Guardian" in class(zzzzzzz).

We thought both the teacher, and the paper, were  pretty Leftist, even in those days.  The teacher, a "Radical-Chic" sort of fellow,  was pretty popular with the students from the wealthier families.

Many of these students went on to UC Berkeley and Stanford after graduation and became counter-culture "Hippies/Student Radicals".  Hippies that drove cool Cadillac convertibles, early '60's Mercedes Benz sedans,  Range Rovers, and converted Hearses, that is.  And they always had plenty of spending money.

Mommy and Daddy were wealthy Capitalists perhaps, but these trust-fund kids rejected all that, of course.  They had "Che" posters in their rooms and read Neitszche, Marcuse, and Hesse.  They were "good" little Socialists and anti-war protesters until the Viet Nam war ended or they graduated college.  Whichever came first.

Then it was time to grow-up(now that it was "safe"), join Daddy in the boardroom, get that new BMW, and become that Icon of the late '70's and '80's:

The Liberal<ugh>"Yuppie".........

Which article are you refering to, Krusher?

Cabby - as much as it pains me to say it, I dislike pampered 'socialists' probably as much as you.

Unfortunately, I don't fit into that stereotype. I could go into details, but let's just say there wasn't a Mercedes Benz of any age parked on my dad's drive.

Im from a communist country. I hate rich middle and upperclass youth socialists/communists (same BS)in western countries, who think just hbow wonderful communism is,  especially college students like this. I only wish an unhappy death to them and their ideas whenever possible.
