Trying to use the Message of the Day, MOD, located on the squad page. Can type in information, upload it, but does not display when squad member (s) logs on.
Haven't been able to locate reference material to the Squad MOD, it's use, function, etc. Would appreciate anyone's input on this subject.
Thanks,
Rokit

Try saving it as Sqdmotd.txt file and put it in you HTC/Aces High II/ folder.

Hmmm. My squad motd was being displayed before and instead of any arena message.
To confirm, only the squad CO can do it. It should be the [squad CO gameID].txt file, for example mine would be fuzeman.txt file.
To see it you can use the dot command "showsquadmotd" and that should display it when your clipboard is up.

My fault then. Apparently for the *members* of the Squad it will show as sqdmotd.txt in *their* game folder.
I stand corrected.

Appreciate guys, thanks for info. I was hoping it would do a little more, like pop when squad member logs on. was going to use for training announcements, messaging, etc.
Oh well, have to stick with sending letter bombs

LTARokit, it does currently display when squad members enter the arena it was uploaded in.
Currently a squad would see their motd and not the arena message if HTC has one loaded.
If your squad has no motd you see the arena message if any and of course if no squad motd or arena message then you get neither.
With minor skullduggery I believe you can even have two different squad motds in seperate arenas.
I know I uploaded our Tuesday night squad motd in the MA and still had my TA squad motd for takeoff and landing help.

I have often posted a squad MOD in the SEA before FSO without being the CO. There is no "can post MOD" privlage, so I believe anyone given full invite, eject and change name privs can post it. May not have to have eject priv, might be tied to change name-don't realy know.
