Sectarian abuse on the school run (http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/uk/northern_ireland/newsid_1524000/1524187.stm)
And while we're at it, why are British troops being sent to disarm Albanian terrorists, while being withdrawn from N.I. with weapons still in IRA and Loyalist hands?
'Welcome to N.I. - excelling in senseless violence since 1690'

I never could figure out this source of conflict in your country Dowding.
It seems both sides of the fence have interpreted "An eye for an eye" to mean "anyone's eye for an eye".
Truly senseless.

With religious differences in Ireland, and the middle east fiasco, its no wonder that people have 'lost religion'....tis a shame.

Religion is just the hook that they hung it from in those places. Its "us and them" and the drive to revenge perceived past wrongs, and it works fine whether it religion, race, tribe, or any other difference people can identify and perpetuate. However, there is a certain irony, considering the basic teachings, that it should be religion so often.
And (to Dowding) I suspect the reason British troops are in the Balkans and not in force in NI has something to do with the fact that Albanians don't set off bombs in London - and that it would be much easier to call them home from Albania than it proved to be in Ireland.

Now, I don't have anything against religion per se... it's just that people have done a lot of sh*t in the name of religion - KKK, Hitler, etc. And if people are losing religion, what do you care? Let 'em. Remember, everyone for themselves. That's the Right way.
Back on topic... N.I. hasn't really had any purpose other than revenge built on revenge for ages now. Blood cries out for blood, and nothing short of blood will do. THIS is the real shame. Revenge simply gives someone else a cause for vengeance. And thus the cycle continues...

Thats why I dont really believe in organized religion.
I tossed my rebellious attitude some time ago and became a very spiritual person, but I just cant agree with most organized religions.

Ummm.. not particularly stellar examples. Throw a heavy dose of nationalism in there and you are closer to the truth.

The protestants are claiming that they are just reataliating for previous assaults and injuries by catolics.
I guess those catholic schoolgirls are much more vicious and bloodthirsty then it may seem to an ignorant observer, if they could terrorise that protestant neighbourhood...

No different from the eitht year old kids throwing rocks at British troops and yelling about the "600 years of opression", as though it was something they had experienced. Those girls were guilty because they're Catholic. The logic of revenge is a strange logic.

Sure glad this is happening in such a "civilized" society, like Great Britain!

Seriously, it's damn barbaric to throw grenades at Kindergarten age kids in the name of religion.

I'm not too sure about that Yoj, I can see UK troops being there for quite a while. Certainly longer than the 30 days initially planned - it is the Balkans afterall.
As for N.I., considering that we've effectively 'reset the chessboard' as far as releasing terrorists on both sides; the IRA has been recently working with Columbian terrorists to develop more powerful weapons such as 'vapour-bombs'; the IRA has more money coming into its coffers from its drug-dealing operations in NI than its old stupid US benefactors; I'd say things are looking good.
This latest episode illustrates how nothing has changed.
