Any reason why sound won't play on Mozilla browser? Sound is working fine everywhere else on the Win XP Pro OS, except within Mozilla. (YouTube for example, won't play the audio of any video...)

is it just youtube?
earlier today i have IE trouble with youtube, sound only with no video... then later it was ok.

Doh! Disregard, the little crumb cruncher plugged the speakers into the BLUE receptacle instead of green. I'd better get him checked for color blindness! ;)

LOL...gotta love those moments. I remember thinking Windows Media Player was broken for a week because I had no sound. After several downloads, upgrades, and patches I saw that the Mute button had been pressed:cry

Uh, if the speakers were plugged into the wrong place, then how did the other sounds work? I feel a Twilight Zone moment creepin up.

That's what had ME wondering! Windoze media player was playing music just fine! Its when I tested default Windoze sounds in the Sound panel that I realized that it wasn't Mozilla, since these sounds did not work either! So I went back to basics....input...Check...er, not!

I don't know if you have a surround sound card, but it's possible it was plugged into the rear channel output (assuming firefox/youtube only plays through the front channels and windows media plays through all surround channels).

I use Firefox. The sound works fine with YouTube.

Some computers if you plug the speakers into the headphone jack instead of the speaker jack they'll still work on some things, I'm speaking from expierence, not knoweldege :)
