Tragic news for the family and the warbird community. Sounds like this F-86's brakes locked up at high speed on the runway during take-off.

Is it me or does it seem like the vintage warbirds crashes are on the rise lately? Yeah I know, there are more of them in the air than ever before and the law of averages does come into play but damn, it seems like there's 2 or 3 a month lately. This sucks.

It's the airshow season so there are more flying right now. More exposure = more risk.

that is a darn shame. best wished to the pilot's family. sad :(
on a selfish note will there be other F86's at the EAA this year? i really love seeing them? :(

If they did this ..i would of never been able to fly in a b-17 and a b-24..Defnlty a highlight in my life

That was a beautiful F-86. Dang shame to have lost it and the pilot.
