Title: 5-in. Gun Question

Can human-manned 5-in. AA guns damage or destroy a friendly aircraft? I think not, but another friendly player mentioned that I killed him with the 5-in. gun while he was jousting with the nme aircraft. Thanks in advance.

Depends on the arena settings.  If killshooter is off, as it is in AvA, then the five-inch gun (and all other manned guns) kill anyone, indiscriminately.  Shouldn't bother friendlies in the MA, I would think.

However, it's often believed the same holds true for AUTOMATIC firing guns; that isn't true. ALL aut AAA, be it 20mm or 5", will kill anything it hits.

Mannable acks and 5" guns cannot kill friendlies.

However.......
Auto ack will take friendlies out.

think it depends on lag I have seen manned ack kill friendlys on rare occasions

In any arena where killshooter is turned off, mannables will kill friendlies.
