The error you describe can have a multitude of reasons. To tell you more, we need to know what kind of system you got.
Best would be to post the first third of a dxdiag report here.
1) Press the "Start" button from the Windows desktop
2) Select "Run" from the dialog box that pops up.
3) In the Run dialog box, type DXDIAG and press the key.
This will start the Microsoft DirectX diagnostic tool.
4) Once started, select the "Sound" tab
5) Make sure you have your hardware acceleration set to no higher than 3/4 (one notch lower than full).
6) Run the Sound diagnostics and make sure is works.

ya thats the report they are looking for, but you need to post more of it. They need to see the first third of it... if the report is 9 pages long, cut and past the first 3 pages.
The report will have all the info on which drivers you are running and what kind of hardware you have. From the part that you did post, it looks like your system "may" be able to run the game, but you don't have the video card info there so we can't say for sure. Also, you might have a good enough machine, but you might have the wrong drivers loaded up so you aren't getting evereything you can out of your machine.
So post the rest of the info and let the gurus dig thru it.
