Title: How many pilots will be in FT .....................
Post by: Husky01 on July 28, 2006, 05:44:19 PM: Ok its a friday night ussually at the peek hour there will be a total number of give or take about 600-650 guys and gals on. My question to you....well not really a question but kinda like a survey is how many pilots total do you think will be in FT at one givin point?:lol

Out of the 600-650 people on my quess is that 200+will be in FT:D

P.S. Im only asking out of curiosity<-(sp)

In fact I got it in my head last night (as I was nodding off) to try the P40B more than I think is sane. I'll give it a few sorties. I don't care about score.

So you're spot on with the estimate of 200 people in FT with 600-650 online.

Edit: I will be there, too :D

Last night, Rooks had FT pretty much under vulch (both bish and nit bases). 2 flights of buffs came in at 15-20K to bomb the Rook field. I honestly wouldn't have cared if our FHs had gone down for 15 min just to get things back "in balance"

Unfortunately, they missed... :rolleyes:

Post by: Krusty on July 29, 2006, 01:55:21 AM: I got a few in a P40B (landed 3 at once, got 1 more after) before realizing all the alt monkeys and cherry pickers in FT were annoying, started taking more competitive craft. I did pretty well for a couple of sorties in a 202 (almost the same armament as the P40B, mind you). Can't remember if I landed any of the 202 sorties. Was going to take up a 109E but got sick of the lame FT situation, went elsewhere, ended up logging to eat dinner and watch TV. Overall a good time was had, but more annoying toward the end. Too many retards blast in at 15K to vulch the field repeatedly not caring if they die (this was the non-stop norm the entire time I was on, we had so many retards doing this we set up a standing CAP over our own field)

krusty the 202 takes way bigger gonadds than the P-40b.At least the 40b had 2 50's.In the 202 you always have to go for the cockpit shot, usually very close from target.I fought JETSTER in his Ki-84 in Jely's room not to long ago, after we reached an agreement that i could not shake him from my Six, i was able to shake him 4 out of the 6 times which was not bad.But in the end of that 10 minute engagement the 202's armament could not doe the damage it was needed to do.It is still the best Diving plane in Aces High even though the guns are weak.

"going commando" is a military term, because commandos/seals coined the phrase) is part of the culture. I don't know why he brought that comment up, but he is right. Don't need to toss it back at him like that.

The better thing to do would probably have been to say "And that's relevant how?"

Bumper crop of bombers, hordes, lame mishunz by the 31st to vulch the Rook field, lame retaliation missions to vulch them, picking, whining, flaming zekes, flaming hurris, flaming spits, flaming niks, flaming 205s, flaming bomos, dozens of noobs and vets alike spraying rounds at anything missing a wing, and squeaking kids spamming range for hours on end.

All in all, a good time was had.

Post by: Krusty on July 29, 2006, 11:42:41 AM: FYI: P40B has 2x nose mounted 50cal and 4x 30cal wing guns. C202 has 2x nose mounted 50cal and 2x 7mm (.303) wing guns.

EDIT: Of the two, the C202 is the more capable, by a long shot. P40B is the harder plane to get kills in and survive.

I always inflict more damage in the P-40, but thats just me, and 1/2 the people you encounter in the P-40 just runaway from you.I get engaged way more in the 202 than in the p-40 and thats just from my experiences with it.

I am looking forward to seeing akak in his 38 in Operation Downfall, oh wait he lost that ride didn't he............

Yep and took out 3 of the 4 Ki-84s that jumped me. Not too bad IMO, not like you could do any better.

I personally cant fly a fighter for crap but if I wanted to learn I would go to ft. To me although I pay the same as everyone else I wouldnt think of using bombers at either other than to practice using guns or give someone else practice against fighter attack.Anyone who does t is just trying to spoil others enjoyment to no purpose or end at all.Guys go to ft and tt in the first place because there is always enemy and instant combat I can never figure out why anyone would want to bomb either???? it makes absolutely no sense at all. Maybe one of those that thinks it does could offer me a plausable answer. I am not looking for or trying to start an arguement just trying to find the answer to a question.

It was not until I started in on this BBS that I learned the error of my ways and what FT was generally considered to be. Not all the people who bomb are ignorant of the unwritten rules I'm sure. I'm confident that a whole bunch know exactly what they're doing. But I am also equally sure that not every new guy is involved with this BBS either and only learns in-game after PO'ing alot of people.

The three airfields at the lake in the middle of the current map, surrounded by a ring of very high mountains

Some maps have 3 airfields all of different countries, that are all in close proximity usually surrounded by 20k altitude mountain tops.

It's a place where anyone, no matter what country you are on, can get into a dogfight very quickly.

SA is a must in Fighter Townville.

SA = situational awareness (need to know where all planes around you are at, at all times)
