Title: Medical question
Post by: Meatwad on July 29, 2006, 09:49:58 AM
For several days my tongue had been swelling up and is getting white spots/patches about the size of 1/8th inch on the front and sides of it. Its really sore, burns even from drinking or eating anything. Doctors offices around here are closed other then the hospital. Anyone ever had this problem before or knows about it? I have looked online but thats as much help as a blind man painting stripes on the road.

Yea, I can relate.
Tell you what I have done on a few occasions. (4 kids makes you beeery sneaky)
I have called the E.R. and got an opinion from Docs on duty. No charge and at least you have an idea how serious it is.

Not gonna waste a lot of your time, just look here:

http://www.webmd.com/hw/health_guide_atoz/hw139096.asp

Click on the "home treatment" at the right side of the page to see what you can do for it without a doc's help.

Something you may not know ..

County hospitals are there for you if yer in a financial bind.. they will treat you regardless of insurance coverage, etc.

If you have any armed forces time .. retired or not ..you CAN go to the VA Hospital for treatment .. you ARE a Veteran.
It's a hassle to get a DD-214 copy, but if you talk to the the VFW in your area they can walk you thru it and they are glad to do it.

They will also set you up for an eval for service connected disabilities ..
.. they awarded me 20 percent over something that happened on the flight line so long ago I had basically forgotten about it.. combined with a bit of hearing loss I didn't even know I had.

Don't cost a dime.

Finally after only getting maybe 4 hours of sleep agian, I broke down and went to the ER. They have a program for low income people like me so it will make it incredibally cheap if not completely wipe the bill out if your poor enough (which I am). Turns out I have "oral ulcers." I forget the actual name of it, but it starts with an "A" and its a word thats too long and complicated for Meatwad to handle.

Anyways im on Acyclovor, Tetracyclene, and some mothwash stuff that you mix with water and you swirl it around in your mouth. Kinda tastes like cherries, but after a while it goes from good tasting to something you might find in a rotton bag of cherries.

NOTE - Some friendly advice, if you want to service a woman orally, MAKE SURE that she hasnt had a yeast infection recently. Dont ask how I know, just trust me on it :)

Course you can tell her to do what Docs reccomend.

Wipe front to back and not back to front.

I remember hearing my wife talking a bunch of years ago to one of her best friends who had a Yeast infecton.
Doc told her  that hers, and alot of those  yeast infections are caused because alot of women wipe incorrectly when they take a dump and wipe from back to front when they should always wipe from front to back.

I wont go into why.
the reasons should seem obvious.

But if she does that. Next time you wont wake up with a chitty taste in your mouth ;)

However, good luck with your treatment, and hope you heal up fine.

Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome.

You'll be OK.

Actually, it's probably aphthous ulcers.

Meatwad, I think a fine American such as yourself should be able to go to the hospital whenever he is sick.  Thats why I'm going to vote for Hillary Clinton in 2008.

Yup it royally sucks. Temp topped out yesterday at just under 102 and now hovers at 100 for the past 5 days. What really makes it bad is I have no appetite and whenever I try to eat something it burns painfully so no food for me. :(

Eating is one of my favorite things to do
