Title: P47D-40 86FS/79FG - blue lightning tail

I'm going to be starting this one soon. I was wondering if folks knew what the art on the nose was supposed to be, and whether it was on port only or port and starboard. If anybody's got any further info, I'd be happy to accept it. I've not got too many sources on this bird, but it sure is a pretty bird.

Possibly a modified squadron badge?

Hard to tell if on both sides (lead one)-

Someone built a kit of one here, shows it on both sides -

Thanks Kev. I'd seen that model, but wasn't really sure.

I guess it couldn't hurt to have it on both, eh?

Both sides of the nose with the squadron badge Krusty.  Group history has lots of photos and all I can find of the right side shows the squadron badge as well.

Here's another bird from the same Squadron.

Rather bloodthirsty buggers, weren't they??

Thanks!
