Ok, you did hit U to enter calibration mode, press Y for more than 2 seconds, then U again? Now, is calibrated speed written in red or green letters? If all is in green letters, everything is aok, if not, you did not press Y long enough.
The other possible source of trouble would be if you are in AR 234 and forget about switching from RATO to bombs before calibrating...

And another thing. They changed the calibration process a few patches back. DO NOT MOVE THE STICK while calibrating. Holding the cross at one spot isnt neccessary any more - on the contrary, it will cause your calibration to be off. (The description on Net Aces is for the old system).

Make sure speed/alt are constant. Then enter bombsight, U to enter calibration mode. Hold Y for 5-10 secs minimum. Best is to do calibration shortly before drop. Press U again to LEAVE calibration mode (yes, the cross will now seem to jump back a bit, but if all text is green and calibrated speed is identical to your E6B speed, youre good to go.

A not on the bay doors. opening them will cause a lot of drag and slow you considerably. You have two options, either open them early before calibrating (meaning youll have to be careful with your drop key) or open them just before drop (before it starts affecting your speed).

I will give that a try opening the doors before drop but My air speed and drop alt is in red and say no drop speed and no drop alt i think that how it reads.

If AFTER calibrating the speed and alt are still red, then something is wrong. You do have a US keyboard, dont you? and HANDS off stick while calibrating....

Is it plane specific? Or is it happening in all bombers?

Take off, level, go to bombsite, hit U, hold Y for a count of 5, let go, hit U again.

If it's still red, try the following

Take off, level, go to bombsite, hit U, do the whole bombsite mark-the-spot thing, holding Y for at least 5 seconds.

This isn't going to hit anything accurately, this is just seeing if you can calibrate at all.

Is the text still red in both cases? Does it show any speed at all (defaults to zero?)

the sight just defalt to zero when I hit U agin every time Im getting good a dive bombing the B-17 but thats getting a lot of people yelling at me so i quit. But I always happens. When I first started bombing I could hit a hanger at 15,000 to 20,000 ft but now when iI cali, the bombing scope goes rigt back to the way it started strait down. i understant that the bombing sight will move after you cali, but I dont think it sasposed to go back strait down?:O

you cannot correctly calibrate when the bomb doors are closed.

am i the only one that saw this?

You can calibrate with doors closed. You just have to open the doors the second before you bomb, so it will not slow you down fast enough to hamper your bombing run.

I have another weird idea...
Red26, Just to make sure you have not accidentally remapped your calibration key: Go to OPTIONS/CONTROLS/MAP KEYS. Then select "flight" and look for Function "Bomb Sight Mark Point". Is that key mapped to it still "KEY_Y" ?
