Okay i've heard lots about this rudder thing that can be hard to get the hang of in an X45 system. I've looked at photos. I've tried a search or two.
Can somebody explain exactly WHERE the rudder control is? Also explain how to use it (if not obvious)?
The curiousity has been killing me for over a year now. Recent posts have made it too much to deny.

the default rudder on the X45 is the rocker switch located on the underside of the throttle grip. squeeze the left side for left rudder, right side for right rudder ..
or you set the rocker up as something else (I use it as aileron trim) and get a set of ch pro pedals :)

Hum.... odd. No wonder I never saw it (hidden as it is). One would think that this setup would not be as smooth as a twisty stick, if one were uneducated on the matter.
P.S. Got any pics?

That rocker is pretty sensitive. I had to tweak up the damping quite a bit to make it useful in the game.

Oooooooooooooh. Finally. Curiousity has been appeased.
P.S. I still want rudder pedals instead, I was just curious as heck.

i had the x45, the rudder was essentially useless, however the rudder can be reprogrammed into something useful like flap switches.

Once you get the hang of it, it performs the same great function as pedals over a twisty stick: No unwanted rudder movements.
I personally like it.

I personally love it, except i wish it was positioned more to the back of the throttle, instead of underneath it, but no biggie.
I did have to play with the dampening settings, as it is a tad bit touchy. If only I could find a way to compress the joystick spring a little.. i might take it apart and cut some off and see what happens.

Saitek has announced rudder pedals coming out in the next month or so. I am DEFINITELY getting a set... HATE the rocker switch thingy.

talked about back here... way too high a price sounds like. CH pedals are under $100 and lower used. more reliable probably too.
